Hi,

Is anyone selling custom mobile apps and if so do you mind sharing how you get them built,, all I see is that they are expensive to have built. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks,

  • Try freelancer.com, and yes they are very pricey but that doesn't matter if your client is paying for it.
  • I think mobile apps will be a big thing in a few months... I think it's a bit early for some type of businesses to deal with apps. You are right, they are expensive to have build so you have to charge a good amount for them and it will be hard to sell a mobile app to a local business specially... I think mobile sites and sms services are the big thing now.. just my .02 cents

    • You can get software that can make simple apps such as the droidgenerator.com. Either use it to make your own promos and ads or make them for clients. The droid app market is huge and hardly even tapped. There is also tons of similar app maker software for the iPhone.

  • One thing I see and maybe I am wrong but you just can't build one app,, it has to be built for i phones and androids which leads me to wonder what about all of the other platforms that are out there,, what do you do with them?

    • you are right, you have to get apps built for each device. I've seen big real state companies have apps that sync with the phone's GPS and shows a map with the houses for sale around the area etc. I guess it all depends on what type of business because why would a restaurant have an APP where they can just have the mobile site instead? you can put a bookmark of a mobile site on your phone and have the mobile site show up.
  • Try freelancer.com many of other business were good on any certain business even they are pricee...
  • Creating an Android app has a much lower barrier to entry but if you are serious about apps across all platforms outsourcing will be the best option. If your looking for an easier way to create income from the mobile market you could try providing businesses with mobile websites and QR codes.
  • Try the Corona platform for building apps.
