Is Chicago Plumber your business name? and are you going to change it to Chicago Local Plumber??

Citations, like Place page information, should always use the name that you actually use to do business, that is your real business name... in every listing. The more duplicate content (ie: your business, name, address, tel) you can create the better!

Changing the business name in your citations will only cause confusion and you'll no doubt lose rankings not gain them.

If you are trying to rank for "chicago local plumber" include that in the description and image descriptions in your citations.

  • All NAP should be matching identical all citations you have done with your gp listing 1st thing i see is in Google places your phone number is (773) 123-4567
you have it as 773-123-4567 i would change that .
Use exact name as your business is called all over the net.

I’m not talking about modifying my current citations I’m talking about creating new NEW ones and just adding the keyword I want to rank for as the COMPANY name
Leaving the address phone number the same

A.K.A. creating a fake business listing + spam citations? Let me make your life easier - if the search results for these particular keywords are "pure", i.e. not merged, you are going to simply lose your time with that

no, don't do this, if you use a different business name for the new citations it can damage your existing rankings because google will see the conflict between the two names.

best thing for you to do is try to get your website, or a page of your website, ranked for the new term "chicago local plumber" by building tons of backlinks to it.

I agree with Chad. Be very careful making any changes with your GP Listing.

I repeat, make ALL CITATIONS exactly the same name, address, phone. If you deviate from that you won't be able to succeed with google places.
