Heya!!

Thought I'd share my current phone script from my wso that is doing very well for me for landing SMS clients via restaurants. Enjoy!

P.S

It all flows for me after that, it's not any magical copyrighting in here but it works for me and the owners are very much less defensive since I've started using this script. Hope this helps some of you out there, try it out.

  • Do you try to sell the product on the phone at all? Take questions etc? Or do you just try to set the appointment?

I am in the process of starting a local SMS marketing company, and I am looking to brainstorm with other people in the industry.
  • After the script above, I just try to get an email from them and tell them I'll send them some information and follow up with them in a couple days. I write a great email giving them benefits, examples, what they should expect and I include the pricing at the bottom and again tell them I will follow up in a couple days to see what they think and maybe we could set up a meeting.

Seriously more than HALF of the clients I land email me back with their paypal payment, no meeting or anything.

Do you have a copy of the email you're sending??? Or, at least something close??

      Thanks.

  • What time of day do you find is best to call restaurants?
  • Most rest. open around 10 here, I start calling at 9:30
  • just curious, what are you charging them?
    • [1] reply
    • Thanks for sharing:

I'm just starting out here in SoCal.

Curious - if you do not mind me asking - what do you charge?

I've seen models as low as $79/month and as high as several hundred.

Of course, initially, one can charge based upon value, but I believe, its not hard for the owner to google SMS marketing and find a bunch of $50/month plans.

Way back when, I sold dramtic cost cutting technology to banks, and while the initial stages of the sale were all about how much they would save - payback was measured in months - pretty soon the conversation moved on to what about these other guys offering very similar products/services?

Curious how you handle these scenarios.

Kudos to you for getting the payment without a meeting.

      dunkinbbb
  • nice post. curious to find out what you're charging.
  • Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I forget that there are really more than enough customers out there (almost unlimited). All we need is the right way in. This looks promising.
  • Thanks for this, really simple and sounds like it would work (putting myself in the role of the gatekeeper I think it would disarm me)
  • Arron.

    This script kicks ass!
  • Thanks everyone, im glad you could take something from this!
About what I charge, I've been sticking with $235 set up and $250 per month, I didnt spend much time researching how to do sms and stuff, I actually just found out about being able to do this for businesses like 2 months ago, I spent most my time just calling and practicing what phone scripts worked the best, went through about 8 different scripts until I stuck with this one. 13 restaurants landed in my first month, 4 landed second months, im starting to slow down now, I've got a lot of stuff going on at once, it's insane!!

Your right! And that is the role i took since I first started cold calling and pushing sms through the door first and they love it so much it's easy to upsell different services and business ventures.

Heyyy BIG words from a BIG name on the forum! That means a lot to me coming from you!! Thanks!

    Arron
    • [1] reply
    • No big man on campus... Any person here is only one good report away from being a "name". But yeah, I love your script. First class. You could train people on that.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Arron,

Good on you man! well done. i'm just getting into SMS marketing also. First of all thanks for sharing the info. I have a few follow up questions that clear up things a little more and perhaps help others also.

    - How are you fulfilling your service? which provider are you using?
    - Out of the first few clients you closed...how many people have opted in the restaurants sms list?
    - Are you helping with the marketing materials for the restaurants...so people know how to opt in to their sms marketing campain?
    - What kind of feedback have you heard from your first few restaurants you signed up? ( good, bad, indifferent )

    Thanks,

    Keep it up!

    • Good questions! Check TXT180 out, I've been really happy with them so far, may change in the future when I get time to land some more clients. Compare TXT180 - Mobile SMS Marketing Solutions

I actually managed to start upselling the 'extra' services such as providing marketing material which was a measly upsell of 99 bucks. But all I had to do was buy was a small plastic flyer holder and print out a simple little flyer for the to put up in the front of the rest. And I also included a quick training session to their hostesses on how to get everyone who walks in to sign up for the sms list. I get the owner to agree on offering custos who walk in, free drinks on their meal if they sign up for the text list.

All of my clients are very happy with their ROI so I have yet to have any complaints or anyone fire me!

  • @Rolltide, Im way ahead of you!! LOL, After the release of 7 deadly streams I already began working on my second wso for the offline marketers explaining my exact blueprint on how I landed 17 offline clients in two months at $250 per clients which got me to a auto income of almost 5,000 just off SMS and some totally unique ways I UPSOLD myself to $14,000 per month alltogether from those 17 clients! It's looking like a awesome book! Hoping to have it done by my bday!

  • VALUE PROPOSITION !!! great job! Hit points of concern right away. By the way... you're building simple mobile websites micro sites and landing pages and putting short urls into their text message campaigns right?

I hope so --- extending the value of a text message onto a mobile site is soo awesome. ITs great for customers and business owners. Customers can see photos, videos, fill out opt in campaigns like email newsletters, sign up for raffles, compete in contests etc.

SMS is the first step! Businesses loveeeee this --- owners get analytics reports and everything! Alllll of our restaurant clients with SMS marketing are doing it. Get your customers going.

There are a couple website builders out there right now -- ours is a good place to start

GoMobile - THE mobile web marketing platform & mobile site creator.
  • Simple, and it rocks.
I haven't done SMS in a formal way yet, but I do have a "proof" client already - a restaurant even. Worked great for them. I had not even looked for an SMS management platform, so thanks for that tidbit also!

Time to hit the phone ...
  • That awesome! Yup hit those phones and knock the calls out, dont waste time inbetween calls and thank everyone who says NO!

  • How many restaurants are you callung a day? Are these just local restaurants with 1-2 locations, nothing like a national chain correct? So your local pizza, sushi, steak, seafood type restaurants? How are you picking which restaurants to call?
    • [1] reply
    • I dial 100 numbers a day. Which takes me a little bit longer than an hour. Just local restaurants but there are chain restaurants that are local owned like dominos and such. But I focus mainly on the ones that I know are local.

      Arron
      • [2] replies
  • how many appt's did you average for 100 dials?
  • Rolltide, I would say about 3-4 interested people per day outta 100 called, where I would send me email to them and see what happens.

Up until I landed this final script to stick with I would MAYBE get 1 interested out of 100.
  • That's the attitude to have! Offline is a great business and can be easy if you know how to get your foot in the door, you gotta really know how to play the game with these owners and put be ready for whatever they have to say.
  • Nice script. I could make it to fit what we are selling.

    • For anyone providing this type of service.

If you get your own whitelabel SMS service and sign up a client. Once you have them signed up and set them up, does the client send the txt messages out themselves or do you need to do it for them? How much is your involvement each month?

      Thanks, Ron
      • [1] reply
  • Lol.

I remember being in your position once, people saying "Write it, write it...".

Seriously though this is an exciting and believable business model...

So I called my friend David last night, who owns a retail store... and I said:

"...I know about a service that would blow your mind...Would you mind if I ask you one question..."?

    "Sure", he says.

What would it do for your business if you could send out a special promotion to thousands of customers cell phones any day or time of the week... and create an immediate spike in sales anytime you want to... ?

I could see this set him back and hit him hard... He said "Well... THAT would be one heck of an interesting proposition...".

So anyway, I didnt go on and sell him, I went on to talk to him about the business model you have here... Truly nice, crispy clean, easy peasy... This is a doable model, and I think you have your prices set right where they need to be.

    WRITE IT MAN!

    • Hi Arron,

About your WSO coming out on this would love to get on your early list but unable to PM you. Can you either PM me or email me at "mtnbiker50 at gmail dot com.
This is a awesome post and it came at a perfect time for me to help get my sms business off the ground!

"Working on it as we speak bro! That's why I dont want to give much more away here(response email/rebuttles/upselling etc) as I will be going into awesome detail of a fool proof way to get going. "

Thanks for sharing some rocking idea's and script!
    • how many calls did you make? I usually find that you will have much success in cold calling if you make A LOT of calls - I am talking about at least 100 calls per day (minimum 50). Track all the calls that you make and track what happens so that you can refer to it, follow up and call back. This will work on either excel or a CRM (customer relations management system). (like salesforce.com). It is not that expensive. Hope this helps!
  • Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I forget that there are really more than enough customers out there (almost unlimited). All we need is the right way in. This looks promising.

  • Thanks Arron, another question

At first, since all people use cell phones, and all people eat.... Couldnt one just somehow purchase a safe list at first as well and wouldnt it still create somewhat of a spike, if one sent a message to 2,000 eaters with cell phones in a local area?

Understandable it wouldnt convert as well as their own customer base but... I think its a good question worth considering... I find its easier to ask someone to walk ten miles with you, if you ask one mile at a time... So its important to make the first mile easy and not uphill.
    • [1] reply
    • That is a interesting idea but the problem is I think a lot of them my equate it to spam and might but a damper on them opting in to the biz. Is a bit dicey right now with unwanted msg's. There are some case's going around this issue. Temping as that is think better to make sure person is getting something they are expecting. We might think it but alot of folk are very protective of their phones and what they get. My son took expection when a friend forward him a coupon.... Go fingure
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • That is something to consider John and I never really thought about it. I've yet to find a client who had such thought either but it is something to consider but I dont think it is significant enough to mess up our goal to landing however many clients we want.
    • [1] reply
    • Agree, just looking at all the possibilities.
  • Hey Arron, two questions about SMS service.

    1. How many messages do you allow for $250/mo?
    2. Do you let your client to run their own campaigns or you do it for them?

    Nice thread.

    Thomas
    • [1] reply
    • 1,000 msgs a month and I run the campaigns for them.

      Arron

  • The thing about SMS is a lot of business owners know about it, but they are under the impression that it will cost them too much or it is too complicated. I like to always just say try it for free, I'll set it up for you. No problem.

But I prefer delivering the message via letter or email/video. If done right and consistently you will get regular calls.
  • That may be true in some cases, but for the majority of my clients this was something very fresh and unique to them. I guess it depends on the niche, there were a few rest. that knew about it but other that the rest. niche my other niches were clueless.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • For my people out there who doesnt have the deepest pockets, check out TXT180.COM for their SMS service, There 1,000 message package is only 17 bucks, so you can profit huge with this one, even if the business isn't a big one with a big ad budget, you can still charge them 80 bucks per month or something and still make a decent profit.

    Arron

    • Thery seem pretty good. Few months ago, I checked them out and they didn't have a reseller program then. I signed up to their "announcement" list but never got any updates...

I'm glad you reminded me about them :-)

      Thomas

    • Its a real shame TXT180.com only allow US residents. Do you know of any simular Companies from the UK ?
      • [1] reply
  • do you have a business website in case the small business wants more info or wants to see it, or is everything done from email and phone. I know that is what you said, just checking to see if i would need to set up my own business website?
  • Yeah I have my own little website, I think it's a pretty good idea to have some sort of website for them to look at. Mine is a simple free WP blog and it's just fine! No need for anything extravagant!

    Arron

    edit - http://jiximarketing.com/
  • Is it necessary to have a reseller account with the SMS company to do this? If you are managing all the campaigns for your clients, could you just sign up for your own monthly account and manage and track everything from that one account?
    • [1] reply
    • Nah it's not necessary, I really dont even know what that means. I have all my clients on one normal account. That was just my preference, im not sure if others do it differently.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
      • [1] reply
  • Yeah I would say an hour and 20-30 mins I can crank 100 calls, double that if my wife helps me out. I move quite quickly on the phone. This includes calls that are only a few seconds being that the owner isnt around.

I cant see anyone not making at least 50-60 calls in an hours time if you cut down wasted time. Dont have a lull time between calls, have a quick system to document who has been called, if you got to the manager or not, if they were interested, and their information. I just have all this documented within a table in microsoft word. I like to color code the results of the calls, it saves time, nothing extra to type or write.
  • Awesome point!!^ Also, you can SPARINGLY, and I say S.P.A.R.I.N.G.L.Y send your clients lists some great CPA offers and make a bunch of quick money on your end as well!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • John did mention about having 100 clients. While this sounds doable (landing 100 clients in 6 months or so) there comes the vital part. How would you manage 100 restaurants' campaigns with quality text to justify the $250 or so they are paying you monthly?

I do have a specific restaurant niche which I can think I can close better at a higher rate so would be more than interested with this.
  • Yea, once you get too many clients for you to handle you can easily outsource the management to a VA on odesk or freelancer for a very good rate. I can still manage all of my clients by myself and with a little of my wifes help from time to time. I currently have 33 total clients and working on another Spa at the moment, already sent proposal email and she emailed back super excited, expecting her to sign up and send payment today. (This is ANOTHER clients I landed without ANY face to face interaction. All with my script and my proposal email, it's a killer combo)

I think once I hit about 50 or so, I will probably get sick of managing by them and will add this task to my current VA's work list.

      Arron,
Thanks so much for all the info. I should be able to answer any questions that my partner has. I will get back to you very soon.

      Kind regards,

      ------------

Great! Alright, like I said, it all starts out with a personal shortcode, ex 54545 and a personal keyword, ex stellardeals. Our initial job is to get as many of your current and your future customers ON THAT LIST!! Train everyone to actively promote your VIP Club to each and every customer that you come across. I would really suggest you girls offer a CHANCE to win a free facial/massage/whatever you spa girls do if your custos join the VIP Club. This way your only giving one person something free so it doesn't really cut into your pockets. Tell them one out of 50 people who join your VIP Club, will receive a free whatever. This has worked awesomely for my current clients, so think about that. If not I can get offers for a chance to win free gas, fastfood coupons etc. I will keep in close touch with you and update you when your list grows. I suggest we send our first SPECIAL OFFER text when we get to at least 15 sign ups. Once we get there we can have some sort of phone meeting to brainstorm the best, most irresistable deal to get everyone running to grab the deal before the time limit is up. We will take care of everything on the technical side; subscription organization, database organization, "welcome to the VIP Club" message, and all mass messaging. All you guys have to do is put the word out. People's natural reaction is to sign up anyway, every one wants to be apart of an important club. So a VIP Club where we personally text everyone SUPER deals? It's perfect. On top of that, remember I suggested to offer one person a chance to win something for free and this is double effective to get quick signups. That's pretty much the gist of it really. We will be sending you some great ideas for other areas of your business every once and a while at no charge, just to start opening your eyes to the creative possibilities you have available all around you! Thanks, get back with me after you speak with your partner! Ready when yall are!!

Yes, everything is included in the yearly plan including the set up fee. If you payed today you wouldn't
have to worry about anything for 365 days later. After this text campaign gets your profits up to a
comfortable place, we can start thinking about other services to boost your profits even more.

We are ready to begin when you are. Upon payment, we will send you your SHORTCODE and
your keyword. I suggest offering your customers something free in exchange for signing up
for the VIP club. If you dont want to offer anything free from your end, I have access to
some really great offers that they will love, just let me know and I will find the best one for you.

Payments can be made through paypal to this email address(jiximarketing@gmx.com). You will
receive all of your information within 12 hours of payment.

Here's to a long-lasting, money making business relationship between us!

So $2K for 12 months? Does this include the set up fee because its a lump sum?

Okay so your really fresh, I think your best option is to jump on the mass text marketing first to get some more profit flowing and to start building word of mouth about the great deals we're sending out. There is no need to do any services for your FB/twitter/google rankings you have more money to commit to getting that extra exposure. I usually charge $235 upfront and $250 per month or $2.5K per year for our mass text service. I do want to work with you and help your business explode to great heights since you are very new and just opened last month. I can run your text service for you if you can work with $200 upfront and $220 per month or $2K for the whole year. Most of my clients make their monthly fee back with one text message. The yearly fee may be more, but saves you a crap load of money on the back end. Get back with me and let me know what's best for your current financial situation!

Hey Arron, so this is what I have so far. Open since mid-June, but I would really say July > Lets say 20 customers. We just finished a Groupon and it had about 100 hits. One > more deal scheduled in mid-August. Website is 8888888888.com We have a page on Facebook. (haven't really posted anything) We have a Twitter account. (haven't really posted anything) I think we have about $250 to spend a month and that's wishful thinking really. So hopefully you can help us out. Not sure how the marketing thing works, but is it a monthly thing, or a flat rate thing? And if it is a monthly thing, is there a contract? Does it get to a point where the marketing cost should go down as we gain a customer base?
Thanks so much, > Traci McGriff
      • [ 8 ] Thanks
  • Would like to know more about outsourcing to VA, what kind of VA are you looking for?

And what kind of work will you outsource to them? I am sure not everyone is capable of writing decent copies of texts.

It's in my plan to get 100 clients or so and build it as a decent stream of passive income while concentrating on smaller number of big fish.
    • [1] reply
    • I havent gotten to that point yet but you can train any VA to manage the campaigns and write the copies yourself, that's not a lot work and can be left to your marketing mind and just outsource the tedious tasks.
  • Wow Arron that is awesome!!!

Btw before you edited your post she did say that she can only spend about $100 a month?

How did you manage to change her mind? Just by giving discount if she pays one lump sum?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Oh that was a messup from copying and pasting, it was hard to get this email posted lol, the number 100 by where she mentions groupon got there somehow..It was supposed to be 250 *shrug*

    Arron

EDIT: HAD SCREENSHOT BUT IT WAS TOO HUGE.
    • [1] reply
    • It can be fun to write very short copies, provided that they provide the gist of their offers or deals.

Do you think you can reach that point? Or would you rather focus on rather smaller number of clients and upsell them services which are beneficial to their businesses?

      Right. Got it
  • It is quite a challenge handeling all the clients, upselling and accepting referrals when they come, I have slowed down a lot on getting clients in the past couple weeks. Lots of work. So i would rather stay around the number of clients im at right now, and when referalls get me to 50, I will outsource the entire management.
  • Thanks for the tips so far Arron.

Due to my geographical location and daytime commitment it would be nice if I can close deals without face-to-face meeting with the US business owners. The most I can do is by web conferencing or Skype if the owners really want to see me "face-to-face".

Looking forward to the point that I'll start getting decent amount of referrals. Let me know when your WSO is launched tomorrow.

    Thank you.
    • [1] reply
    • Exactly, I never have a problem meeting face to face, but with the system that I have in place, a lot of the times I get payment without ever even speaking of meeting up.

And I will add you to the 20% early bird list for the WSO since you mentioned it!

  • Quick question, when you sell your package to a new client that has no list to send out sms to, how do you overcome that and get them to pay you for a service they can not put into effect?

    • I have a issue that has been bothering me for a while now.

So you have created a campaign for a resturant or bar and you are offering
a drink special... say 2-1 deal.

Now to receive this offer you have to text in 'beer' to the number.

      Happy days.

But what if the person who has received the offer forwards the text onto his mate, and he does the same to his mate.

Firstly, you have not acquired their number and your giving away free drinks to people who are dodge.

Has anyone really thought about this?

  • Are you in control of the list and the client knows nothing other than what you tell them? and does txt180 give you one keyword per $17 with the 1000 messages?
    • [1] reply
    • Yeah, I control the list personally and my clients are subscribed to their lists also so they get the texts every time we send them out. It's pretty to maintain on our own, if you keep every client organized, it's cake easy to just send the messages out for them. Yea its 17 per keyword per 1,000.

About your other question, this has never really been a problem when I explain the whole process to them and how we are going to be getting the signups in a really quick fashion with a few marketing tactics.

  • Just read it, awesome insights... I can tell you right now that this is enough to succeed with. It would be easy enough to set two telemarketers on the phone with this also and have them transferring live hot prospects to you all day... I like it because its a no brainer hardcore "telemarketing" pitch... that an average person could succeed with.

Now given that, a person will have to go get their own sms text messaging service, no biggie, and ecstrapolate some things... But thats what ALL succdessful telemarketers do, they jump in with a basic pitch and make sales and figure out the rest along the way... and they succeed while others are still waiting till everything is perfect... or while others are waiting till they have they have so much knowledge that they can talk way beyond the point when a person was ready to close ... they over sell, most of their conversations end with the business owner saying "I will have to think about this"?

Some may say 'I dont want to be like a telemarketer...Im a 'consultant'...".

Great, that pride is why an 18 year old pothead boiler cold caller can write more sales in a day than you can in a week. Get over yourself.

    Why?

People fail with Too much info in my opinion, because they try to put it all in their pitches...Too much info, and not enough "Benefits and Emotion".

Throwing an encyclopedia at prospects isnt what sells...'Emotional committment" is what sells - "Benefits" - If you get to talking too much about "features" , its too much for a client to assimilate, and business men dont make decisions when they are scratching their heads trying to assimilate all the info.

This is a straight up way to "pitch" and "sell".

And quit pushing paper around your desk. Its not an SMS encylopedia, but its just what you need to sell, if you can get past all the inward dialogue saying "I dont know enough yet".

You want to kinow enough about the "benefits" to tell someone and get them excited, thats how sales happen... you want to close them while they are excited, you dont want to keep talking and over sell.

Providing good service is a "given". There's hardly a way to fail sending a text message to a customers own data base.

I love it. Im going to use it first chance... I believe that this is the 'approach" that works for high volume sales.

If you only want to make 2 sales per month, go take a college course and you can sit around with the smart guys that are talking about how much they know for 3 hours to business peopole and putting them to sleep... if you want to SELL like mad - Take the telemarketing approach - Volume - Thats what Arron is demonstrating here, and it works - If you will just choose "Not" to intellectualize, and if you will choose to just get on the phone with this script, and a "point to prove", you will succeed.

    I dig it!
    • [ 6 ] Thanks

Thanks for the tip. Hows about another one. How would you market this to Businesses that work by appointments. Thanks.
    • [1] reply
    • Well TD find out if they have a way to easily fill cancelled appts. Ask if they would think having a list of clients on a waiting list would be a good idea? What if 1st thing that morning they get two cancels and then they could blast out to their list have opening at X & Y and 1st come get's it say at 10% off.. So instead of losing out with nothing they can fill and still 90%. I'm sure they should have no problem getting clients on the list.

Great thread and I know a few small restaurants near me that may be good prospects. Do you send out the messages to their customers once a week or is less frequently?

If you offer the free facial as a prize (or something similar), how do you get the winner from the list of people that are texted determined? I know it has to be randomly picked but how is that done?

I saw some awesome things with integrating with google from Laura Betterly and Ryan Diess. They have a great product called Mobile Local Fusion and it is the bomb. Great coaching too.
  • THANKS GUYS! USE THE SCRIPT!!! IT WORKS!
  • Arron,

What happens the first month because with the setup up fee plus first month charges aren't they getting little response because they are in the early stages of building up their text message subscribers? I was wondering what you say to them about this?

Also, do they ever want to manage their own account and if so what do you say on that?

    Debbie
    • [1] reply
    • The set up fee is all they pay for the first month. Most of them definitely make that much back and more in their first month.

I tell all my clients that I am the only one that can manage accounts. I like to have total control.
  • Might I suggest when you want to add what the customers really want like QR Codes they simply "scan" to sign up to the list that easy, video, voice, photos, and other stuff like that.. you come check out Mobile With SMS. We have it all and then some you can make a KILLING selling each of these services. Plus text180 is the most basic of basic... we have good relationships with all of the major and several minor mobile carriers for much more reliable deliverability.
  • I have a question what do you do with the customers that have more than 1000 customers and want a bigger amount of text messages for that particular month? Do you charge them any overage fees or how do you handle that?
    • [1] reply
    • You should charge them overage fee per extra text message. Come up with your own price for that, an example could be 10 cent per text over 1,000...
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Thanks for sharing so much detailed info to put into action right now. The phone script alone is worth $$ ...how often does somebody GIVE us details like this plus the actual sales pitch? If you just got on this thread, go back and read every post to see what you've missed. Awesome. Cheers!

  • So as I am getting my site set up and getting ready for the pool season to end so i can start my offline cold calling journey I was always thinking mobile sites were my 'foot in the door' pitch. But as John says this pitch provides the one thing a business owner wants to here.....How to get more people in the door buying things!!!!!

I may lead with SMS and upsell the mobile site instead of the reverse. Mobile sites are good and all but what is the DIRECT BENEFIT to the biz owner? We know what this direct benefit is, but it seems like the SMS direct benefit is much easier to explain.

    Great thread...consider the WSO purchased!
  • Bold and sounds effective. Sounds like it could be used as a good opening line of a sales letter.

  • Hi Arron,

    Thanks for this.
I think I might make one tweak. I'd take out the bit about "This is what I do for local restaurants just like yours!"

Just sounds a bit like you are doing the same thing for all his competitors.

I'd replace it with "This is what I can do for your restaurant".
Makes the owner feel like he's getting personal sevice.

Just a thought, I might be being a bit picky, and on second thoughts, if your script is working for you, why change it?

Also, if John likes it, that's praise indeed!
    • [1] reply
    • Hey, thanks for the suggestion, I look at it like this. Everyone wants to do what the other TOP restaurants are doing. No one wants to be out of the loop concerning the new stuff on the block. Both ways have their own advantages.
  • Aaron could you please PM me with details on your email script? I have 3 clients to follow up with and I'm wondering what your email says! I've been stumped on what to put in there!
  • actually I bought the WSO. I didn't realize it was a WSO when I first posted.

    • When giving something away for free in exchange for them to be on the vip list how do we know whether they sign up to be on the vip club? Do you physically get them to write down their number and add it to a database are do they have to text a certain code to get added to it.

If they have to text a code how do we know for certain that they texted it?
      • [1] reply
  • What are the criteria of the restaurants you target?
  • lol I do it even better. I walk into the restauran or retail store and act like I am a customer. Then after a few minutes I ask for the owner (If owner is not there then manager) then I introduce my-self Hey how are you doing my name is Your name here (no special company name just yet just plain name) I wanted to show you something real quick. Do you got a second? Yes Sure whats up? Take out your cell phone text Pizza to Shortcode 9If the restaurant is a pizzeria) then I preset a message on my back endloke Emilio's Pizza VIP List Get buy one medium pizza get the second at half price on your next visit. and they are just blown away of seeing their business name on the message. Next question they ask is How it da F%$^& did you do that? And you answer with a question What do you think it will do to your business being able to send a message like that to all your customers? From there he is pretty much sold.
  • I think this should be transformed into a salesletter!

That act alone multiplies the power of this script.

  • areevez

I love the scripts but I am not too good on a phone,..lol..my question for you is, do you also have an SMS script that we could probably use,..I just got signed up with this sms company, offerfortune dot com, they are not only cheaper than any of the SMS companies that I have checked but they also have their own opt in mobile phones number lists in any city, state and niche market,..and its only like I think $50 for 5000 sms messages a a month, cant wait till I get my hands on that one and thought some warriors couls benefit as well,..this is not an affiliate pitch and I am not the owner,..just never seen any deal like this in the market yet,..and would like to hear your thoughts,..

    Steve

  • I like this intro a little better , what do you think.

Hi, Business owner this is Don. I just wanted to talk to you a minute about increasing your sales and profits. Is now a good time? Ok great! The way this works is through a new technology called SMS, have you heard of it?

Well business owner SMS stands for (Short Message Service) and with SMS we can send your promotions to all your customers' cell phones any time we want. Don't you think that will increase sales and profits?

    Then go from there.
    • [1] reply
    • Never try and sell them on the phone, it is SO much harder. Just close for the appointment:
      -------

Hi, this is _________________ with (company name), how are you doing today?

That's great! I have a brand new technology that allows you to bring in customers whenever your want, on demand. I would love to come in and show it to you, when is a good time? This afternoon or tomorrow?
      --------

If they say, no I don't think so blah blah blah you say:
      ---------

Would you mind if I just ask you one quick question?

Do you want more customers? (everyone will say yes to this)

Then give me 10 mins to come in and show you exactly how you can get them, whenever you want! Worst case you don't like it and that's fine. You come out of it armed with some more knowledge about the future of your industry and we part as friends. So when is a good time for me to come meet you?
      -------

Never, ever try and sell them the product on the phone! The entire dynamic changes when you are in person. People are MUCH MUCH MUCH nicer in person.

And just so you know I'm not talking out of my a** I have been cold calling for the last 5 years for a living, first in the real estate biz and now with my mobile marketing company.

And just an example for all you curious people out there, I call a minimum of 100 businesses a day. Out of those 100 I will get to around 45 decision makers, and from there I will get around 30 meetings for sometime in the future. I go on around 3-5 sales calls everyday. It takes me around 2 1/2 hours to cold call, which I have just recently brought on my first employee to start doing it for me!

For all of you guys out there who are scared to death of cold calling, trust me I know exactly how scared you are. The first time..hell the hundredth time I did it I was shaking when I called, but you get over it. Just remember, they can't reach through the phone and strangle you and you can always hang up if you panic.

The worst that someone can do is say no, and I thank people when they say no because that means I am one more call closer to getting a new client.

Keep track of your numbers so that you can figure out exactly how many calls you have to make to get 1 client. My current number is 15 calls. So every 15 telephone calls I make (this includes following up/reminder/cold calling phone calls) I sign one client. And when you look at it like that, when someone tells you to go to hell and stop calling your just 14 away from your next sale

Sales is all about persistence so get off you a**, stop trolling this forum (yeah I'm talking to you) and pick up that phone!

PS: When you do start meeting people in person, DO NOT start talking pitching them at first. Find a common ground, something to talk about. Scan their office, do they have trophies? Pictures? Kids? Magazine subscriptions? Find something to establish a common ground and talk about that. If they start going to business go right back to the common ground until you have a rapport built. THEN you go into the pitch, never before.

Remember, a company never buys anything, a person buys it. You have to get that person to like you before he/she will ever buy anything from you. I would suggest reading the book: How to Win Friends and Influence People. If will teach you exactly how to sell to someone and make them like you while you do it!

Best of luck! And feel free to PM me any questions that you might have.
      • [1] reply
  • NICE,..I would change the SMS to text message service,..like a warrior mentioned above,..most business owners have no clue in what SMS is,..and they loose interest right away!!

  • I would like to buy the wso but unfortunately it has been closed... bummer
  • Hey Arron that's a good script you have there, I actually used to use the "Can I ask you a quite question please" line and I can vouch that it does work very effectifly indeed.

I have only just touched base with the whole: SEO Marketing Campaign's in the last day or two, I quite like the whole concept and may jump back on the phone and do what I am best at, I used to provide telemarketing for my past carer and was very successful.

This has actually opened my eyes to some untapped potential, I look forward to giving it a go soon thanks for the share.

    Cheers

I probably would have considered purchasing it. I just landed my first attorney client this week in the offline world, and I'm open to hearing suggestions for continuing in this direction. • Didn't go to well for me today. Either the owner wasn't in / they was doing sms already / they didn't think they needed it.

Got two "leads" if I can even call it that:

      1. Gotta ring on Sat to make appointment to see the owner
      2. "Catch" the owner when he's in on Wednesday

All in all, probably visited 10 shops. I know that's not enough but it was raining so I called it a day after about an hour of visiting and walking. I think I'm gonna try cold calling instead. Easier to reach mass people
  • What if you are not in the same city as them but are still cold calling?
