$10,457 Magic Bullet! How I made $10,457 In My First 72 Hours Of Becoming An Offline Marketer!

Hey fellow Warriors,

I started my Offline Marketing Business way back when this forum didnt even have a section for Offline Marketers. As a matter of fact.... Almost every thread that was started on the topic of Offline Marketing was either deleted or closed because old school IM'ers didnt like where alot of us were heading with Offline Marketing.

Im sure alot of you old school Offline Marketers remember those days. That was when Dexx (fellow warrior) had to start a new forum (Offline Gold Forum) just so we could talk about the subject without being flamed and shut down.. lol.

So why am I telling you all this?

Because I want to let you know that I have been around for awhile and also that this is still a brand new industry and you should be juiced to be a part of this business while its still in its Toddler stage.

So im sure by now you want me to just shut up and give you the magic bullet, magic pill, or the special coolaid so you can hurry up and make your riches in the next 72 hours like I did

Here is the deal....

Their is no real magic bullet, pill, or whatever you want to call it!

It takes work, energy, creativity, commitment and much more!

But im not going to leave you all hanging...

Here is what I did when I first started my Offline Marketing Business.

I first bought up pretty much every single WSO I could get my hands on the topic of Offline Marketing. But I didnt buy just anyone's. I made sure it was only from those that walked the walk. Those that ate their own cooking.

How can you tell if they eat their own cooking?

Easy... Their are a few ways you can tell.

1. Usually (not always) they have a decent post count (over 500-1,000) and not only post, but they contribute free tips and advice without asking for anything in return. They have other Warriors respect. Not everyone's, but alot of peoples respect.

2. They have good reviews for the products that they put out.

3. They usually have a good amount of Thanks next to their name. This means that others found enough value in what they offered and pressed the thanks button in the posts they made.

Back when I first started their weren't even close to the amount of WSO's on the topic of Offline Marketing. So you are pretty damned lucky that you have more to choose from and alot of us have already went through the trials and errors and will steer you clear from them.

The next thing I did...

I printed out all the (WSO's) materials I bought. Don't just leave them on your hard drive. Print them out! That way you can make notes on them, you can highlight them and put stickies on them when you need to go back and read something. If you dont have ink in your printer, then put them on a thumb-drive and take it to your local printer and have them printed out.

Next Thing I did....

I stopped buying any new WSO's, I took a break from the forums, and I studied all the WSO's that I bought. I didnt look at any new offers or even think about going online until I went through what I already had.

Did I use all the strategies and ideas from the WSO's I had bought in my business?

NO.... Does that mean that I asked for a refund if I didnt use that strategy? NO...

I see too many people jumping from one offer to the next, looking for that magic bullet. They complain publicly that they tried this or that and it didnt work and they dont think it will since they spent at least 5 to 20 minutes on it. Im sorry to tell you... actually im not... I am HAPPY to tell you that if you plan on getting any results with minimal effort. Then you are in the wrong business. This business will take work and commitment. Especially in the beginning as you build it.

I figured if I just got at least one idea that I could use now or in the future then it was well worth the $50-$200+ I spent on each WSO. Now alot of you are looking at that last sentence and probably thinking to yourself "50 to 200 bucks?" "I only paid 5 bucks for my last WSO I bought?"

Thats right... We didnt have the luxury and weren't spoiled with $5-$17 products. Most of them worth any value were between $50-$200 or more. So stop whining!

Im not trying to be harsh... Im not trying to make friends here, im trying to make a difference.

If you get at least 1 idea or strategy that you can use in your business, then why the hell would you ask for a refund? This is your education we are talking about. These are the building blocks to your business. Invest in it and take action on it.

After I went over every single one of the WSO's that I bought and chose 1-3 different services I want to offer. These were services that were in demand but most of all they were things that interested me.

After I chose the services, I then took massive action on everything that I had learned.

One of the most important lessons I can pass on to you is this... If you truly want to be successful in this business. You will need to take a break from the forums so you can build it. At least until you get the ball rolling and bring in your first few clients. After you get a few clients, you can schedule a few times a week when you are allowed to come in here and get new ideas or offer support to others.

The last 2 points I made are the most important ones. So let me repeat them one more time.

1. Take Massive Action on everything you learned

2. Stay off the forums until you build your business

This is how I did it in not only my Offline Marketing business, but in many other successful businesses and projects I have done in the past.

And Yes... This made me way more than $10,457 in the first 72 hours that I officially launched my Offline Marketing Business!

I agree a lot with the "stay off the forums". Too many times I come on here and read about someone else "banking so easily" and I admit, it makes me start wondering about what they're doing.

I have bee taking the rent a site model quite seriously though, more serious than any other offline idea so far, so I hope I succeed with it.

  • My respects for taking action many people buy wsos and read them but never take action as you said they jump from one thing to the new next thing congratulations on your success.
And yes there is no magic bullet its all about educating yourself and taking action.
    Good read

The problem I used to have wasn't jumping from idea to idea. Instead, it was starting and stopping altogether.

I sold my very first product online in 2003 (and it still sells very well) to my fellow magicians. Everything I knew at that point came from Marlon Sanders.

Unlike people that complain they can't make any money, I actually did very well right from the start. In retrospect, I was a bit spoiled because I took my success for granted. Things were easier back then!

Instead of continuing to build my list, foster relationships, and offer new products, I would do nothing for months, and then have to reactivate my list.

The only good thing that came out of me not contacting my list for a long time was that when I sent out a broadcast, people really noticed. It gave me the ability to re-launch an updated version of the product which sold well.

Of course, with that success, and I stayed consistent, right? Nope!

I went from working 18 hours a day and being obsessed with marketing to doing nothing again for a long time.

There are a few things to take away from this.

      1. A lot of people jump from thing to thing, but a lesser known problem is starting and stopping even when you're successful. If that's you, stop it. I did and my bank account has thanked me.

      2. As much as you may love marketing, be careful of burnout. The main reason I think I used to start and stop was because instead of working a few hours every day, I would work 20 hours every day for a few months and then I'd be fried. Once I hit that point, the last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of the computer.

      3. Even if you made the mistake I made of starting and stopping, you'd be surprised at how easy it is to reactivate your customers.

Thanks for your post, it was a good read!

I think its important to talk about this one more time.

Since alot of us got into this business because we love internet marketing, we tend to spend many hours in front of the computer and working on our business. Is this a bad thing? No, not at all.

Just be aware of it and be sure to take mini breaks from time to time. Sometimes I will work on a project for myself or a client and I will lock myself in the office for a few days straight. But once I finish I will take a few days off.

Alot of people recommend spending no more than 45 minutes at a time on one task and then take 15 minute breaks. This doesn't work too well with my personality. I like to dig in and make it happen. Then I will take a mini vacation by turning off my phones and not checking emails. I will go to a couple fun places with the family for the next few days. I might go to the local park or head to the beach. Just make sure you take these mini breaks and you will be fine.

Most people experience the burnout because they are spending too much time doing busy work like surfing the web, chatting and reading forums, spending time on emails, skyping, etc.

Limit the amount of time you do these things. Maybe set aside 1 hour a day towards the end of the day when you are allowing yourself to do those things.

Always ask yourself this question during working hours, "Am I doing something to build my business right now or am I just entertaining myself?"

Or another question could be, "Is what im doing going to bring me more business or income right now?"

If the answer is no, then you need to switch gears and do something that will.

    Dr Dan,

These are very inspirational words and have really hit home with me. I have recently bought a number of WSO's based around offline marketing and although i've read them through and found some good ideas, I haven't really put these down on paper or put them into some kind of strategy.

You know what, I'm going to do this now, even if its just brainstorming something or writing a list of what works and what doesn't, it's going to be worthwhile.

Thanks for the inspiration you have provided to me.

Great Post Dan !!! I personally like Offline more that Affiliate Marketing (I do both)
I started in 2008, selling MySpace pages and Google Adwords to small businesses for $1,000 per month. In 2010, most of my clients were small to large corporations. Now in 2011, I only consult businesses and don't do any data entry anymore. The business world is starving for more qualified people in this field. I have seen my competition at business mixers over the years and its a joke.
Like Dan said...buy some WSO's, Love Dexx, Michael Hiles and others. Then mold your business it what you are comfortable with.

Thanks brother and you are one of those that helped me many times in the beginning. I loved the fact that you were one of the only ones that would actually share your service menu as well as your pricing. No one else was really willing to share back then ;-)

I also feel you on the consulting. I am moving my business model in this direction right now. I love it!

  • It's like your talking to me, Doc. I keep jumping on forums, checking email, etc for all the latest greatest.

But, I did make 2 videos with animoto a couple of days ago.

Now, I'm going to get off this damn thing and work on getting them ranked.

Thanks, Doc, for your great WSO and the kick in the pants.

Your welcome and great advice. The burnout is something to be aware of. I still do this weekly lol.... But its a good thing since I take mini breaks when it happens.

Your welcome and that has always been one of my perceived weaknesses growing up.

I always had to tell the truth and was never able to fabricate things. I always wanted to tell the truth or just not open my mouth...lol

Its kinda like being in the movie Liar Liar with Jim Carey. "The Pen Is Blue!" lol...

    Dr Dan,
Thanks for your words of wisdom, along with the others who have added insights. You are right on the $$ so to speak about taking action! So often we keep trying to consume the "next great system" for improving what we "want" to do instead of just taking action on what we have.... Thanks

Your welcome and it is like eating meals. Its good when broken up in the day when you need to fuel. Just dont eat all day or you will get fat and die! lol...

Only buy and take in new WSO or info products when you are hungry for that info or strategy. Consume it and use it.

      Don't overeat food or WSO's!

Or you will crash and burnout!

Hi Dr. Dan, way to add value. I can see the wisdom in what you've said. one of my biggest regrets is letting my original wf profile go idle for like a year before I ever decided to do anything with, it. Of course in that time span they changed passwords on wf and I ended up having to create a brand new account a few months ago.

Of course I don't plan to let the fact that I don't have 500 or more posts stop me from creating good products here-but from a buying stand point I can see what you mean.

As far as me the massive action part of what you said I agee 100 percent with you. That is vital to ones success. Sort of reminds me of something my high school football coach used to say..."the best way to make mistakes is at full speed". Otherwise, thanks for the wise council!
