Created this free video content for theofflineinternetmarketingguru.com website and I'm just throwing it in here to share. There is a video on a squeeze page before this video where I state that I am a Stage Hypnotist to help the video make a little more sense when you watch it. Just know it is 30 minutes long. This link bypasses the squeeze page and takes you directly to the content page

Added some time indexing on the video so you can pick and choose what you want to see

Enjoy

        Hi Martin,

Tnanks for your lengthy reply to my question. I think in video you said that you tell people you'll get them higher up in google places. Can I ask you what you find to be effective to do so (if it has to do with backlinks other than citations and on top of what you wrote in above post)?

Sorry about taking so long to get back here. I've been busy getting ready for the launch. Since there seems to be a group waiting for the next video I'm going to try to put something together tonight and have it ready for tomorrow.

Debbie I will go inside a Google Places Page and go over the details. I will also provide a link to Googles own Video about Google Places that they aim at local businesses. It is full of information about the product. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Actually I wasn't planning another one prior to the launch as I've been busy getting the members area ready. There will be alot of training when I release the site for offliners. I could look into creating another video. Any particular offline subject you would like me to cover with my take on it.

      Hi Martin,

Yes...acquiring clients. This is the area I need the most help with. Maybe my expectations are just too high.

I am comfortable talking with people but I just want to learn all the little tips to get my % of converts as high as possible.

      Thanks again,

      CG

Okay CG I'm going to give up 2 sure fire ways to go about finding customers in any market and jump start your offline business. These aren't new and you may have heard of them before but you have to take action. These will show you where there are prospects hanging all around you right now and they want more business

This video will be free but this time I am charging a list Opt-in fee. Don't worry I don't share information and I've never been one of those annoying list owners that email till you want to kill them

I will post the new video link in the #1 post at the top of the page when it is ready.

I liked the video. I'd like to know how you follow up the google places part. Are you charging 200 and does that include doing citations and filling out the whole page , adding images, videos etc? How do you approach them if they say they will just do the postcard themselves for their listing?

SNAP and now you are totally back you what you know as normal

Thanks. This is my first attempt at one of these content videos so I'm looking forward to them improving with practice Glad you liked the Google Places section it is something that is very important in the marketplace with the actual amount of penetration by business owners. The percentage of claimed pages is so low that there is a wide open market for this service and it is much needed. Even where I find heavy penetration I believe it is an uninformed business owner or worse one of those yellow pages companies that are really for crap when it comes to helping market small businesses.

Even if the page is claimed I would pursue the company if they are still buried in the listings below page one. Not on page one is the same as not on at all. These businesses need a higher priced service that includes monthly maintenance payments. I only covered claiming the page in the video there is so much more involved than just the claiming Google Places page. I'll be covering that in an upcoming training.

        Hi Debbie:

I want them to come to me rather than pursuing them. By using email or the Postcard idea in the video they have to raise their hand. Once they raise their hand you are very unlikely to deal with the issue of them saying they will do it themselves. If they were going to try to do it themselves they would have done that and not called you.

To keep the postcard out of the equation I just don't mention that up front. Get the contract to do the work and the check in hand before you ever get to the Google Postcard. When you get to the point of triggering the Google PIN call them and let them know what to expect (Phone call / Postcard) The biggest thing to worry about when it comes to the Postcard is that it gets inadvertently thrown away when it comes in. So you really have to stress that they save that card and let you know as soon as it comes it. It is usually under 2 weeks when it arrives so you can stay on top of that issue so it doesn't get out of hand.

$200 would be a base price for claiming their Google Page, filling it in including images and their video. Upselling would come in if you have to come in and take those photos or create the video. $200 is too low of a end user price to be throwing in video production and photo shoots. Citations are a maintenance program with monthly recurring fee as you don't just want to cram them in all at once. Also you need to train the owner to supply you on a regular basis with customer review material.

Hope this helps. Any other questions feel free to post.

        Martin Blakley

Disclaimer: When using the term Postcard in this reply I am assuming that Postcard refers to the Google Places PIN card.

Hi Rus, glad you liked it.

For a customer to leave you and go else where you must create a situation where:

The pain is greater for them if they remain your customer than the pain to take their business to another service provider

I know that doesn't follow normal logic, but I was covering what you have to do to lose a customer. It's a lot easier of a job to just keep them happy.

But you are right Rus, what you said is exactly the situation you want to create. Make it more painful to not have you than to stay your customer. Then you can have them for life
