Improving your result as an offline salesman

I you want to increase your results such as income, number of customers and so on as a salesman, what you have to do first is to work with a PMA which means Positive Mental Attitude.Believe that most people that you will come in contact with will hear you and require your service but you have to be affable.Be easy going.
Another thing you have to do is to look at things from your customer's side, that is put yourself in your customers shoes.Consider what they need, how to help them solve their problem, don't just work for your own pocket.
With these things in place, you will be at the top in no time.

I can think of quite a few more things you might need... but attitude is a good start.

From my experience, it doesn't need to be a "positive mental attitude"... it needs to be more of a "i'm gonna do whatever it takes attitude".

"Positive Mental Attitude" is great BUT....it ain't gonna keep a new sales person going after MANY No's!

      My "Sales Presentation" is....;

      1) MAIN Benefit to prospect - WHY will MY program bring him MORE business

      2) SHOW - a Sample of what I'm putting together

      3) SCARCITY - I appeal to their "Greed Glands" by showing that I ONLY have X Spaces or...only so much "time"

      4) MOTIVATION - I "Paint Word Pictures" of him using and benefiting from my program.

      5) "CLOSE OFF COMPARTMENTS" - I get to the end of my presentation and this is a "Closing Technique" that "Psychologically STOPS prospects from using "Price" as an objection. I ask prospect..."Other than Price....is there ANY OTHER REASON why you will NOT go with me NOW?
If he says, "Nope! It looks good to me. Just depends on How Much It Costs! ........I DON'T have TIME to spend while he "Thinks It Over" or "Wants to Check with Partner"....I offer a "One-Time" Discount IF he goes...RIGHT NOW! (Ex: With most of my programs I have a $30 or $50, One-Time set-up fee. If prospect gives me OK...right now....I will drop Set-Up Fee!)

      6) ASSUME the sale - I DON'T give prospect time to think about my proposal....I grab an Order Form and start writing in his Name. Most times I just finish writing up the order...occasionally...prospect asks; "Hey! I didn't say I was going ahead with this!" I stop writing...look up at him and ask; "What is your question?" He tells me. I answer question and CONTINUE WRITING!"

Now....in 30 yrs of IN-PERSON selling....my average has been "ONE OUTA 3"!.....COLD TURKEY SALES CALLS! I go into 3 businesses and get ONE SALE!....whatever it is I'm selling!

Hope this has helped someone. Thanks for reading.

In the beginning, I think it's all about making that first sales call.

Once somebody finally takes action and does this, then it's all about persistence.

Through persistence, one gains experience and from there he will learn what works best for him.

Finding that "thing" that works best for you takes practice, but once you find it, making sales becomes predictable, not accidental.
