I Need Help Starting A Local SMS, Mobile Website & Facebook Business

I'm hoping someone out their can help me and answer a few questions for me. I have been researching a text message business for the last couple of months. Im at the point now where im ready to invest the time and money into this. I currently own 2 brick and mortar businesses that run themselves, so i have a place where i can work on this at and try it out.

What im interested in doing is going to other local businesses around me and setting up SMS programs with them either where i run the ads for them or they run it themselves. Does anyone have any real good recommendations for white label companies? Id like a company that has a lot of features and can also do the stuff for realtors and all that. I also would like to be able to create mobile sites for the business and create facebook and twitter fan pages for them.

My biggest questions are:
1. How do you figure out your pricing for these services?
2. Does anyone have example contracts?
3. Where is the best place to start. Should i register an LLC or just get out their.

Im basically looking for any startup advice or a mentor that could help out.

Thanks!

I'm kind of in the same boat for pricing and contracts. If you are serious about starting a business I would register the name of your business and register your LLC.

I'm on skype at smackdog42 if you wnt to chat more. Maybe bounce some ideas off eachother.

      My biggest questions are:
      1. How do you figure out your pricing for these services?

Lots of variables to consider here:
      - Cost of the services
      - Cost of your time
      - Package / A la carte pricing

      Just to name a few.

      2. Does anyone have example contracts?
This should be created on your end, however there are sample contracts available in a few WSO's on here, I believe.

      3. Where is the best place to start. Should i register an LLC or just get out their.
Definitely start an LLC is what Trumpia recommends to anyone becoming a white label mobile marketing reseller or simply starting a business.

I am a local business website designer & I do all the above. I have battled with them for a while making each one individually. Until a couple of weeks ago I bought a WSO called WP Business Press local + Mobile + Facebook sites.
It allows you to make all 3 from your Wordpress installation. I am marketing a 3 pack at $995 (they are very quick to make) with the idea that I will start the sites off with 3 pages for each (basic contact & about us sites for local businesses) that can grow as they do. I am intending to make money on the upsell for things like search engine optimisation, adding extra pages, selling Wordpress training etc.
If you want to get in touch with me I am on Skype at "ozlocals"
and my website is at goviralnow dot net (for sales page add /3-pack)
I also have a sales page with video for the 3 pack I've created and a sample of a generic limousine site (on that page) that I created to show how the 3 sites look.
I'm always happy to chat or network. I am also happy to give you the link to check out the sample etc but I haven't posted enough on this forum yet to be able to do that here.
I found that Leon Kouts, the creator of WPBusiness Press is incredibly helpful and provides a lot of support.
I would also recommend Local Pages Ninja Plugin (another WSO) if you want to quickly and easily get a heap of first page ranked localised keywords.
        Good luck
        Tess

Hi goviral, have you had success in selling these packages yet? I'd be really interested to know, also, what kind of continuity are you building in?
          Thanks! Dave

BTW, Quentin's Business Mobile Website is a brilliant script also for creating mobile sites. The course was one of the best bits about it. It really taught me a lot about mobile sites, optimisation and how they work. So I definitely agree with you giving that course a go!

Hey, what's up. Here's a way you can figure out some pricing:
Contact a couple of the big companies, like Yodle or ReachLocal. They don't give a S*** about where the client lives, and I can tell you from first hand experience that they can't even deliver results.

Now, take their monthly prices (yodle charges almost 800 bucks a month) and drop yours just a little bit. Get some comparison going where you show what you are able to do, and then get some information about how bad reach local and yodle suck.

Put together a nice report and make sure to get that in the hands of all of your customers.

DO NOT make it a point to mention your pricing. Title it "A Fair and Honest Break Down of the National Powerhouses in SEO and Social Media Management."

Make sure to include a good mix of positive and negative reviews. But good luck finding anyone who has said anything good about either of them. I learned the hard way.

Other warriors need to weigh in, though. I have articles to write for my clients and there are a lot of potential downfalls here. Maybe we could start a new thread to compile information and piece together a report that we can all use to get some offline clients. What do you think?

I definitely agree that it would be helpful to see feedback from other warriors regarding effective reports, handouts, etc. that they use with their offline clients.

Obtain a Facebook vanity URL so that people can find you easily.
Add your Facebook URL to your email signature and any marketing collateral (business cards, etc.) so prospects can learn more about you.
Post business updates on your wall. Focus on business activities, such as “Working with ABC Company on web site redesign.”
