The Real Deal Offline Series: Not Getting Clients Because Your Feet Stink?...
Are you still finding it difficult to get your next big client?
If so, you could be making the same mistake that I was making early on.
See, the truth is I didn't have a effective way to get my foot in the door. Unfortunately, I was trying to position myself as the marketing guy who could do it all.
That didn't work.
I must've bought dozens of offline lead generation wso's which was good that I invested in my business and education, but it was bad because each wso sent me down a whole different path and took away time, energy and resources from my focus.
So, I took several days to examine what my goals were for creating a true offline business versus just getting a few friends and family member to pay me for one-off jobs here and there.
Here's a few that I came up with:
Credibility - I want to be known in my target market and area for being the expert in my niche.
Consistent, Reliable and Predictable Income - There's no way in the world I will jeopardize my family and lifestyle on a whim. I need proven results for at least six months.
Offline Income BEFORE Signing A Contract With A Client - One of the problems I had early on was that I was taking money from my job income and investing that into the latest and greatest untested marketing strategy without getting regular and consistent income back. In other words, I was losing money. That had to stop.
Hands-Off Marketing Strategies - I don't mind finding a new traffic sources once or twice a month, but waking up every morning trying to discover how to get leads today is draining. I wanted to get five or ten strategies and ramp them up and take a month off from thinking about it and then revisit another five or ten strategies next month.
There's more, but these are the good ones.
So, after I outlined my major goals I then began to only focus on lead generation marketing strategies that fit my goals.
For example, I've found that many business owners are very smart and savvy about their business, but struggle to understand and actually implement basic internet marketing concepts.
So, should my foot-in-the-door offering be text message marketing, mobile phone marketing, link wheel services etc.
Probably not.
I came to the conclusion that I had to build a sales funnel that presented a simple and basic yet irresistable offer to the large majority of my target prospects which they must BUY from me first in order to qualify themselves up into my pipeline.
This could be a website, book, video training or home study course, but the point is that 90% of the time a prospect needs to buy a entry level product from me first in order to qualify themselves.
When I created this type of funnel, this allowed me to meet all of my goals and create a real sustainable business that isn't dependent on someone remembering to refer me to their friends.
Hope this helps,
Chris Rivers
