Making Facebook pages for local businesses for money?

Hi my name is chris and tonight i was told by a good friend that i could make money making Facebook groups for small local businesses. (using it to market there business and help them gain more customers)

Im 27yrs old and at the moment out of work (im an electrician by trade)

I decided to sign up and join WF to see if theres any information anyone can give me as im not sure where i would start. (i.e how to get clients, what to say to them, what to charge and when to charge)

Ive never done anything along these lines but i know my way around the internet and im also very good at using photoshop (to make eye catching flyers, posters and business cards etc...)

Im reading my way through allot of good ideas and can see the potential in offline marketing but would love to hear from some of you guys who have some sensible information on the subject that im looking into starting up.

    Welcome to the WF Chris. As you already are finding out, there's a ton good information that's 100% free. Just have find it. I'd recommend doing a search for the topics you are interested in learning more about. People are very helpful, and willing to share - but won't necessarily divulge all their secrets right out of the gate. My advice would be to start contributing a little here and there on the forum, and then when you have questions, narrow down what you're asking. Questions like "how can I make money on facebook" probably won't be answered by a lot of warriors. Do a little more searching around, and then narrow down what in particular you have questions on.

    Thanks man, wasnt expecting to get a reply so soon, its nearly 6am where i am and ive been reading post all night/morning

    I can see what your saying but as of yet i dont have anything to contribute but the things i do find out along the way i will post about.

    I think the main thing im thinking about and trying to find more out about at the moment is how to approach clients and what kind of things to say to them.

    Im looking to find small local businesses who dont realise that facebook/the internet can help them gain customers and improve there business and sales

        Thanks allot for letting me know about this, i dont have skype a the moment and im using a pay as you go internet dongle so downloading things like that will use up too much of my internet (times are hard) I would like to know more about this though.

    What businesses are looking for is a complete Internet Marketing/Social Media strategy. Just going in and offering a Facebook page won't get you very far in the long run.
    Need to offer them Search, SEO, Lead Gen and Social Media plan. you can charge $1,500 to $2,500 depending on what country you in, that is what I charge here in San Diego.

      Just 2 quick tips:

      1. On top of the Offline Marketing page on the forum, see where it says "Rating"? Click it, then all the posts with 5 stars are shown first. Read through all of them, and take ACTION!
      2. Just to the right of "Rating", you'll see "Search this thread". Now enter your search term, like: facebook pages; that way you'll get all posts related to your query.

    Welcome to the forum. I design and sell fan pages here and to local businesses. There is a great offline forum where you can learn a lot and some offline marketing wso's but what I would recommend is to not waste so much time here and get out and start talking to businesses. Get the basic knowledge about why a business would want a fan page then get out and talk to them. Once you have a client you can find someone here on the forum to design the fan page for you.
