First off, sign up for as many online business directories as you can find. I recommend at least the following:

• Google Places (Google Places)
• Yahoo Local (Dallas City Pages on Yahoo! Local. Find Businesses, Services and Events near Dallas, TX)
• Bing Business Portal (Bing Bing Business Portal (BETA))
• CitySearch (City Guides by Citysearch)
• SuperPages (Yellow Pages: Superpages Yellow Pages, Maps, Driving Directions, Weather...)
• MerchantCircle (MerchantCircle.com | Find new customers)
• Manta (Company Profiles & Company Information on Manta)
• Kudzu (Contractor, Landscaper, Remodeling, Painter, Doctor, Home Service & Restaurant Reviews - Kudzu.com)
• Open List (Open List City Guides - Hotel, Restaurant, Doctors and more - Reviews and Ratings)

After you have signed up for the business directories, you want to figure out what people are searching for that is related to your business. Go to Google's Keyword Tool (just do a google search for it) and then start typing in different phrases like adult care services your city and things like that. Find the keywords that get the most searches and then optimize your site for those keywords.

To optimize your site, you will want to make sure that you do both on-page and off-page optimization. There are full books and courses written about this stuff, but the biggest thing is to make sure that you use the Keyword in your title, header, metatags, and then make sure it is also in an H1 Tag, as well as H2 & H3 tags if possible. Once you have these on-page things done, you want to start the off-page optimization which pretty much means getting other websites to link back (backlink) to your website. Beyond just providing them a link though, you want them to link back using the anchor text as your keyword. I.e. instead of linking to www.yourwebsite.com, they want to link to KEYWORD, with the keyword linking to your website. I hope this makes sense.

By all means this is not comprehensive. I would recommend checking out a WSO for this. I personally got started with a WSO by Daniel Tan, but I am totally spacing on what it is called. Anyway, it will explain it a lot better than me!

One very important thing you need to keep in mind.

Get your Google Places listing started and enter in the address for the business and then choose to preview it the listing.

You'll see the preview and you need to copy EXACTLY how the title and address looks in the places preview mode.

Use it exactly how its display for all your other listings, images and videos.

Local Listing is what you've looking for! Health care should be about the people in your community and or even far from the location you have. Be found in Google places, yahoo local, bing, yelp, citysearch as well! I believe Ben gives the big list to be found more by your local clients.
