google places product hype?

not to tick anyone off, or knock anyones hustle, but i think it should be brought up and answered openly...

although im sure their is lots of good information in these google places products and they most definitely help people learn how google places works...

are they're really these enough of the "advanced techniques" and information to create a product about.

I mean let's get real for a minute... claim your listing, make sure you got keywords and description right, include website url, fill out the boxes, add as many photos and videos as you can, try to build as many citations and relevant local directory listings as you can, get reviews, update and maintain.

Am i missing something? I'll be glad to hear there if i am... but all these products, and all this fuss over this stuff, perhaps there is more to it for the people who've done this places optimization longer than i have, but i just watched a whole webinar where a guy spent about 45 minutes to explain what google places are, how it originated, and what its used for.

Actually, yes there is a few elements you're missing. There are marketers of all experience levels here & If I was running a webinar, I feel it's a good idea that you make sure everyone is on the same page. You retain more people.

45 minutes is way to long. I could see if it were an introduction to seo or something...

At any rate, you mean stuff like linking strategies and embedded anchor text text links in media?

Or some super ninja trick that can only be bestowed upon the worthiest of warriors?

Yes, you are missing some things.
Also, those products aren't for everyone.

They are for people who are not familiar with Google Places, but want to offer the service to offline clients.

However, it is also important to do things the right way... That's what a guide could teach you as well.

Here's an idea: Reverse engineer one of my places listings. You get a client, tell me the niche and the city. Then when my places page is above yours, figure out why....

Sorry about your WSO purchase's of the past. I dont know which ones you actually bought but there have been some good ones. Ben Littlefield put out a couple of real nice Local Google Places WSOs ( I have no affiliation with Ben although we both do live in the Austin, Tx area).

Sure there is hype on WSOs but most do try to get the information across as clearly as they can. Alot of people have their own systems on how to do this or how to get ranked quickly, etc. Look for the ones who actually put their system to the test (yh I know all you can do is ask them).

Even I have my super secret WSO coming out shortly....and yes, I actually use my system everyday.

          Good Luck!!!!

Actually you are right in some sense, there really is only so much you can do in regards to places. However, there is always more then one way to do it in regards to other elements that we are in control of.

I'm about to release my own WSO on the method I've been using for over a year now. Will some of the information be the same was what others may have read? Surely as their is only so many ways to upload a video or image etc.

Conversely, I know that I will also be revealing in my method something that no one else has put in a WSO and that particular aspect is a very strong part of my secret sauce. = )

As for the hype on the WSO forum, this is usually seen in the titles. Take the titles with a grain of salt because the threads only stay on the home page for so long before they are bumped down so the seller has very limited time to capture a users attention and get them to click to arrive at the offer.
