Clients go... Clients come. Relax!

Heck, what a day.

This goes as a reminder to everyone dealing with offline customers - sometimes they go away, choose another company to work with, sometimes they get back after a drop out. It's just business!

Right now we're in charge on all the marketing of a medium company, they work with swimming pools. So it's a new customer for us.

But their old webdesigners are so freakin mad they lost this customer, they sent them an angry email, and they aren't very cooperative.

What a shame.

Costumers come and go - it's just the nature of doing business. No need to get angry about it or turn into a non cooperative attitude.

Relax... sheesssh.

Yeah; that seems to be the trend. Old webmasters like to mess with clients that leave them. It's a shame.

People just need to focus in on helping out their current clients instead of ignoring them and doing a crappy job.

Maybe that's why they left you!!!

Huh? They didn't left me - they came to me. Problem is that old company is not very cooperative...

I had this same thing happen to me with a client who I built a mobile website for. She's a Realtor and has a WordPress website that is totally locked down and controlled by her web design company. They won't allow her to install plugins or anything. It is obviously not in her best interest, but she didn't know any better.

Well, I created a mobile website for her and she wanted me to add links to her blog. I recommended a mobile plugin for her website, and went to install it for her but found out I couldn't do it because of the plugins being locked on her WP Dashboard.

Anyway, we had to call her web design company to get them to install the mobile plugin and the guy went berserk while I was there. He kept asking why she didn't go through him because he has "the best prices in town" for mobile sites. She then asked him how much he charges and it was $2,500! 5 times what I charged her!!

Needless to say, he made himself look like an idiot, but apparently this thing goes on all the time!

I"m just about to take over from a designer that has been charging my client big bucks for doing nothing basically. I duplicated the site exactly in WP and it will be transfered soon. Be interesting to see what happens and how cooperative they will be.

Update: Al files are in house, they were missing some information on domain name registration, but all good now.

Hopefully they'll learn a lesson here: even when a customer goes away, people need to be rational and polite.

Plus, they started a dispute that, most probably, will hurt them in the long run, since this customer is REALLY influent.

    Well, live and learn.
