Google Places (client) question...

Hi guys,

Is the Google Places submission done by us? Or by the client?

If by us, how do we do it? It looks like it's "supposed" to be done by the client themselves.

Thanks for your help!

It should be done by us, that's what the client is paying us for as we know how to optimize the listing and they do not.

How you do this is by claiming the listing for them. If they have already claimed it, get the username and password from them.

Great, thank you BC27! I know websites and SEO but I'm clueless about Google Places, and I've got a client that's asking about it.

What's the best way to learn all about it? Things like this question, or anything that I might encounter when servicing the client?

Oh, one more thing -- does the customer only get to "claim" one single city? Or ???

      Thanks again.

    One more one more thing...

I just looked into "claiming" a Google Places spot, and it looks like it will get tied to MY Google account. How do I do it for the client? I don't want the client's Google Places account to be tied to my Google account -- right?

    • use a fresh gmail account claim the listing with it and give the log in later to your client so he can make changes on it .

        Ahhh.... gotcha. Thanks!

Can I ask you one more thing, please? Let's say the customer is located in the city of Blueberry, but also does business in Blackberry and Strawberry. Can he get a Google Places listing in all 3 cities? If so, how?

Also... same question, different circumstance: let's say he's located in Blueberry but ONLY does business in Blackberry. How would this work?

        Thanks very much!

That is a lot of fruits, but you might want to look into getting a mailbox in those cities where you are looking to expand to as google places will only allow your physical address to be used in the results.

That is the only method I am familiar with at the moment.

          Good luck.

        • you would need 3 virtual office addresses and 3 local numbers to set up 3 different place pages in the fruit land , you cant use p.o boxes tho has to be a real address street name 123 city zip code
