The $2 per Month Solution that will INCREASE SALES PRODUCTIVITY BY 1,682%

Ok ok, so 1,682% might be an exaggeration... ok, it might even be made up! At any rate, I got your attention! ;-)

When I first started contacting offline businesses to offer my services I tracked everything in an Excel spreadsheet. I imagine quite a few of you do the same thing. Tracking via Excel works when you are only calling a small number of leads, but if you are like me, you realized that the list gets quite long pretty quickly. It also makes it very difficult to track when I should follow up on calling. I found my desk quickly cluttered with Post-It notes and became very disorganized.

As a result, I started looking at different Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions. Bar none, the best I found (and what I use daily) is SalesForce (CRM, the cloud, and the social enterprise - salesforce.com).

SalesForce allows you to track all your calls, schedule follow-up calls and appointments, and keep notes of what was discussed during your call. It makes it extremely easy to pick up a conversation from where you left off without having to remember anything. It gets very difficult to remember the specifics of conversations when you are talking to many people throughout the day.

SalesForce is currently running a special on their base product. Contact Manager, for only $2 a month. (Salesforce Pricing & Editions - Sales Cloud - salesforce.com) This is such a small price to pay for organization that I highly recommend all Warriors check this out. I believe the pricing runs through Oct. 31st and then it will go up to $5 a month, which is still a great value for what you get!

I hope this helps some Warriors with their organization. You will not be disappointed with the results, even if it isn't an increase of 1,682%!

Thanks Ben! I always assumed salesforce was about $30 a month or so... I use ACT for my contacts but it cost me $300 upfront. I've been telling my husband to get organized because, like you say, when you're not that busy it's manageable, but one day you wake up and you can't find anything and your follow up goes down the drain.
    (And that costs you money!)

    So thanks for the tip!

    Cheers,

Thats a big increase! Definitely worth getting organised on following up with prospects and managing clients. There are also some free hosted solutions out there if you have a low amount of contacts.

I got a feeling Salesforce will be around for a long long time, many of these free CRM systems wont be (wheres their reason for developing and continuing) and many are unexpandable as in they cant grow with your business.
If you think long term about your business go Salesforce, else go free route and then have to find another one in a couple years time

For a measly $2 a month is it really worth the risk

That's a great service you've found. They have some interesting addons to the basic service too, such as the emailer.

There is no doubt that disorganisation can make a business hell to run

Yeah I wouldn't choose something completely free, you wouldn't fly with a free airline. If you like their interface you can't beat $2. Do you have to pay more for email marketing etc?

For consultants though often the "free" part of freemium services is enough. Especially if cold prospects are kept out of your CRM. For example keep all your email prospects in mailchimp and then just switch them over when they make contact.
