How to Promote a Local Nutrition Store?

I was wondering if I can get some ideas on how to help promote a local nutrition store using internet marketing?

I don't see people searching for a nutrition store, so it has to go by wellness, diet, etc, but I don't see people searching for it locally. Any idea would be much appreciated.

I would suggest targeting ailments that people want fixed naturally.

Flyers would probably work really well eg: "Tired All The Time? Come In & Discover What Is Really Holding You Back With A FREE Consult" or something like that

Blogging about the specific ailments works really well too eg: "Alternative Treatment For ADHD in *insert city*" its a great way to drive traffic. I have done this with a Naturopath with great success =)

    Good luck

Thank you for your suggestions Emma. I don't see much traffic when I even type in weight loss in *city*. I don't see much volume for these type of ailments.

    Any thoughts?

Yes I dont really rely too much on keyword tool for localised searches. I do use it as a guide as the way people are tying to keywords, then I add my city to the end!

I have experienced first hand and know that I get traffic for local searches even when keyword tool says no.

These are also highly targeted niche searches

Emma hit it right on the head.

Online marketing for a local nutrition store should also be re-enforced with some good ole fashioned offline marketing as well.

Check out Dr.'s offices and clinics in your area, most of them will allow you to leave promotional material in their waiting rooms.

How about Mobile Marketing? While you're checking out Waiting Rooms, why not add QR codes to the materials your leaving behind, which link to informational videos and some form of lead capture page (I'm partial to FanPages and FanGates myself)

They actually have an extensive marketing offline. They have people distributing flyers, cards and give away for free samples etc.. The campaign is working very well. Just wanted to see if there's anything more that can be done online.

I can see a blog may work.. but not very directly. Someone might as well go to another store if they are aware of a product etc..

Product yes, consultant/service no..... if there is a distinction or USP that is made clear about the service in the blog. It needs to made clear why this service/consult/product is unique and can only be found here (add in that scarcity factor)

Blogging will do more than drive traffic, it was also help build a list (if you use email capture) and build authority within the industry, which can help lead to other opportunities like radio spots and newspaper articles.

Also video marketing is an idea, they are super easy to rank for local businesses

I hope this gives you something to think about I love offline stuff, its so fun and the money is wicked. I also get a real buzz seeing a business succeeding

  • Rande has the right direction with the naturopathic / wellness articles and advice -
I have a neighborhood that has a health nutrition store, a natural foods store, yoga, and chiropractors all in the same block - I was surprised to see they don't cross promote -
I'm thinking of ideas for them to have a health fair and get them all promotion and listed at the same time...
