How about THIS to build trust and get new clients?

I've read quite a few threads about how to get new clients. Personally, sending letters and emails, cold calling or walking in cold, is not for me. I remember when I had my own business how annoyed I got when I got interrupted either by phone or walk-ins. Anything in the mail just got thrown out.

Besides, a business owner doesn't know you from Adam...

This is what I am contemplating but not exactly sure how to get the word out. Yes, it would require some cold-calling, walk-ins or emailing but...

So, here we go.

Sign up for an autoresponder program, design x amounts of emails and add business owners as you get them. What they would get in their email is information on how they can market themselves, like;

google, bing and yahoo listings
directory listings
seo
the power of videos
cross promotion
create a blog
social media marketing
reputation management
sms
building a list
etc.

The emails would talk in general about one of the above topics and the importance. It would be based on WHAT they can do, not HOW TO.

Once they start to understand how much can be done and how little they do, and realizes that they have no clue how to do all of this, who but YOU should they turn to for help, lol.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Eva

P.s. This is probably not the fastest way of gaining new clients but if you consistently send them information, my thinking is that how can they resist you?

Sounds good. Education is a great way to establish trust. It might be interesting to do videos on each of those topics and have them sign up for access. I do wonder how much time these business owners have.

Question: What video or piece of information would you start out with? I might go with a bit on Google Places and the importance of it. What do you think?

Starting with Google Places is good. Didn't think about making an informational video but that is actually even better. Keep them short, 1-2 minutes, some screenshots etc.

      Thanks for your input/Eva
