I dono if this is okay to ask or not,

Anyhoo, I extremely competent at all the IM good stuff (seo, advertising, site deisgn, email marketing yada yada)

I was wondering what would be a good price range to charge a local business? (Specifically for SEO)

I dont need a exact answer, just something in the ball park

Hi Becker,

I would personally stay away from selling SEO services. The market is extremely crowded and many business owners have hired SEO "experts" in the past and been totally burned on the deal. This makes selling your services extremely difficult.

As for actual prices, it really depends on the competitiveness of the keyword and how hard it is going to be to rank. Obviously an easy keyword will cost less than a harder one. One thing to keep in mind is to always get a contract where you get a monthly fee. This allows you to build up residual revenue, but also ensures that you can keep building backlinks so that the company doesn't lose it's ranking once you achieve it. Just explain to the business owner that SEO is a never-ending process and that keeping you on board will ensure that they keep their top ranking.
