OFFLINE MARKETING

I have a client which sells office furniture which wants to do mail video marketing. My problem is he wishes to contact all facilities managers for schools in the state of Maryland. How do you find the email address for these? Really need the help on this.

This could take awhile-- my initial thoughts are to look up the school district websites for every district in the state. They should have the information somewhere, or at least links to the individual schools which might have them.

My personal feeling on this is that you will be spending a ton of time finding the e-mail addresses and the response will be so low that it won't be worth it. Not trying to discourage you, but in reality this could be a huge time suck with no results.

  thanks Ben for the reply I agree it will be a time suck. I was hoping someone would know of an association that these people may be members of etc. which would speed up things a lot. To the client though one sale could be a Hugh profit situation so they would like to try. I found the local school people pretty easy but the higher education people is next to impossible.

I would suggest doing it the opposite. Grab the addresses, send them direct mail with offer and then bring them to site to market further if they don't want to call. You would have much better open rate and response rate if done right.

Then on site, take email leads ask for offline in return for some special report or x, then hit them with direct mail.

Make sure to follow up by mail as well and now you have a lead in when you call as well.

Oh ya...bonus tip for you...

Address one to principal and one to vice principal and you could even go one to secretary as well and mention in the letter you sent them each one, now they feel compelled to bring it to the attention of everyone so they don't feel like they neglected this opportunity and your response and open rates will be way higher.

  thanks fasteasysuccess for reply what the client has a new line of desk which are really cool for computer rooms etc and has a video to show and wants to see if we can get in touch with the facilities managers who they say is the actual person who does the buying. But to me it would be the department heads making the request for the equipment. I agree sending the info by direct mail may be the easiest way of reaching them.
