    Hey Pierre

I believe there is a big untapped market in France for mobile websites. My children live in Northern France and so I take an interest in the online marketing.

I have noticed how many of the restaurants favour flash websites or huge images, not good for mobile ,

  • I can't recall the thread, but someone just the other day was saying they were having difficulty trying to sell mobile sites to Paris restaurants - I cannot imagine why with the amount of restaurants and the competition there must be...you would think they would be very interested...especially when you add in the tourism factor and google places to find them. I mean crikey, have you googled "Paris Restaurants"?
It takes a map just to find the map, there are so many dots...!

    Answer me this...

Why would I pay you to host my mobile site, when I am already paying for hosting for my regular site through someone else at a lower fee?

Can't I just put the mobile site on my existing hosting account?

I said here that I want to go with Basic $17-$29 => hosting and maintenance
But we can present it another way like renting fees
      Basic renting fee is $17-$29
But with other service 'qr code, sms, reservation...) we can add fees
Puting the website in our hosting provides us much control
So we can not be closed and sell mobile for $297-$597 depending of the content
But, I really like the rent a service mobile concept as there is no risk for the client.

You sure can, and if that's the case, then you pay me $297-$497 for the mobile site upfront. If however you are a business who does not have the money to pay upfront or would rather spread the payments out over time, then the free site and monthly hosting is going to be more suitable.

Obviously you are not going to give away mobile websites for free so it is just a different way for your customer to get hold of the technology without having to pay the lump sum upfront.

      Does this 'method' work?

You bet you. There have been several multi-million dollar companies built off the back of doing this exact same thing with regular websites.

I occasionally use this model when I sell iPhone apps. My preference is always to get an upfront fee and an ongoing fee but occasionally I'll discount (or even remove) the upfront fee.

This model has a lot of merit but you need to work out what the lifetime value a typical customer will be. Of course, this will largely come down to your cancellation rates.
