Network Marketer to Internet Marketer

With the economy being the way it is; I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that would help the network marketer that is looking into a opportunity that they heard of locally, researches it online and then decides to venture into internet marketing.
I know this is happening often nowadays, but most of the networkers or wannabe networkers don't know much about the internet except for maybe facebook and checking their email.
What suggestions would any of you have that would help these people to stay focused and actually help them get started online?
When hearing of an opportunity from a friend or colleague before attending a local meeting will Google the name of the company and as we all know that will most of the time will lead to immediate interest in the other opportunities that pop up with the searches.
How do we help those people that will almost immediately be overwhelmed?

  • There are quite a lot of opportunities available for network marketers who want to venture into Internet Marketing. I would recommend focusing on offering offline services to small businesses. If somebody has been successful in network marketing, they must have good sales skills, so why not parlay that into selling offline services?

    The easiest (and FREE) things to get started with are offering Facebook fan page management, Google Places listings, and even basic SEO services. There is also a ton of opportunity in the mobile marketing space right now. QR Codes & Mobile Websites are HOT as well as SMS/Text Message marketing.

    • That is a very good idea! I will definetly do that.
      I had some of my colleagues in mind that are overwhelmed with any aspect of marketing on the internet. I was thinking of providing some good microsoft windows tutorials that will teach them how to get more familiar with their computer and then bringing them in to a little more technical stuff when their ready for it.
      your are absolutely right though. I will offer offline stuff and if that isn't enough and they would like to learn more about online; I would like to have that available for them as well.
      I've seen tutorials that try to explain the most simplest things we do every day on our computers and they always seem to miss some of the basic instructions. They take for granted that not everyone knows what copying and pasting is.
