State abbreviation vs. none for local
Would like to get your opinion on something. I notice there can be a huge difference in search results for a search phrase with and without the state abbreviation. For example, 'blue widgets seattle' can bring a very different results page to 'blue widgets seattle wa'. To return for both search phrases, what should one do? Should one have a separate page optimized for each of those phrases? Or should you try and optimize just the one page for both, having a lot of 'blue widgets seattle' and a smattering of 'blue widgets seattle WA' scattered around the page? Or what's really the best route here?
Would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
