does google places show up for all searches?

OFFLINE MARKETING

i searched "restaurants toronto" and google places showed up in my search. but when i searched "florists toronto" only listings came up, no google places. does google places show up for all searches or only certain categories? i see google places showing up for "florists san diego", for example. i know there are ton of florists in toronto so i'm not sure why i would not be returned google places in my search results. thanks for any help!

i think i figured it out. it is showing places it just doesn't say "places" but the map markers are there. maybe there is no places category for florists?

  I think that particular thing must not have been in it's knowledge otherwise it shows all the places i have searched till today. Will try searching some new things and revert you.

florists toronto is an example of blended places results where actual places results are mixed in with organic results...sometimes you get blended results like these, other times you get the 1-7 pack, and they do switch back and forth occasionally.

When I moved to a different city and began trying to get my SEO Business ranked in the new city I noticed the 2 different cities were showing different types of results for the keywords: i.e. "SEO in City 1" and "SEO in City 2" showed 2 totally different types of search results.

Google is weird sometimes!

Depending on the datacenter that gets pinged when you do the search, yes, the results are likely to differ.
