Clients that love you - Here's a great example.

Hi Warriors,

I know that some people think that making money from marketing to offline businesses is all about cranking the handle and getting as many new leads as possible and selling them as much as possible and while I understand why some people feel like that it's never been my model.

The way I've always done business is based on the core concept that I don't believe in work-life balance.

Life is too short to be spending your working hours doing something you don't love and working unhappily now so that you can be happy at some point in the future is a price I believe is too high to pay.

I served 14 years in the military and the reason I left was because I was getting so close to my pension that if I didn't get out when I did, the draw of a nice lump sum of money and a pension would have been the main reason to stay in. Life is too short to be wishing it away for waiting for something in the future.

Why am I telling you this? Because this mindset has been fundamental to any successes I've ever had. The approach of helping others and not always looking for what's in it for me.

I often tell people to follow their passions, to not create their business solely around money and to make their business personal so that they can get fulfillment while working hard.

When you work like this you don't need to try and find a balance because you're always doing what you love whether you call it work or not.

This does mean that I don't take on some clients and I do leave money on the table - but it means the clients I do get stay with me.

What does this matter to you?

People always talk about offline marketing as though the hardest part is getting new clients that are willing to pay you well.

Sure this can be the case when you begin, but if you look to create win-win relationships you will find that after a while you don't need to look for clients and work hard to convince them of your value - they will come to you.

To give you some evidence I'd like to share a referal I go today from one of my clients to one of their business partners who asked who did their SEM in the hope that it might encourage you to take your business personally.....

" Andy has done a bloody brilliant job of making our web site highly visible on the internet. For all our key phrases he has made sure we are definitely in the top 3 and in most cases number 1.

The investment we made in Andy's service to achieve these outcomes has paid back multiple times over. For example we hired three £200k plus contractors onto one of our assignments purely as they found us on the internet. This saved us plenty in recruitment costs. There are many more examples... We recently pitched to (company name removed) off the back of them finding us on the web site. What I also like about Andy's approach is that he is prepared to invest in his clients. He gave us this service on a shoestring while we were establishing our business and now we have addressed this given we are now a well established business. The word 'partner' springs to mind...

Just don't make him so busy that he forgets about us!!"
