SMS Marketing: How can I do better?

Ok just a quick run down, so far I've setup a corporation for marketing, created merchant accounts, scraped yellow pages and got a nice sales call app from android to call businesses on the fly without dialing so I can call 2-300 businesses a day. I used the well known phone and email script from Areevez, I'm able to get past gate keepers and follow up fairly well. I've passed out a good amount of business cards, had appointments with business owners, had them tell me how much potential they think this has etc. Yet for some reason or another I can't get it to materialize in sales.

Once I finish talking to them in our appointments I tell em ok let's start setting this up for you but they tell me they have to run it through their partner, or through corporate etc and I don't hear from them again. I follow up but the interest disappears. It's been about a month and still no sales. I'm even offering a month free just so they can taste it, get their clients on board and start seeing its effectiveness. But regardless it just doesn't get them to call/email me back.

I'm not about whining, I'm running into a brick wall and I want to know how to get around it.

What niches are you targeting? Have you tried using e-mail + a follow up call (or vice versa)? Whatever you do, try to stay away from "corporations". Try the places that you frequent on a regular basis ... Bars, pizzarias, delis, etc. Do you or you friends have tatoos or get their hair and nails done? Who did you or who you know, buy their house from? You don;t necessarily have to cold call, or cold walk in, just use the resouces around you with what you already know.

    Hope this helps.

This is a little tough because I know you can't totally control what they do, but you sure can try. By that I mean you have to show them soo many benefits they can look forward to by using your text message marketing services that they would feel like they are missing out if they didn't sign up.

Also, I find name dropping helps out too. It's a little hard to do that if you don't have any clients, but maybe you could just completely give away your services to a couple ppl just to build your list of clients. After you have a couple clients using the service then on your next appointments you can say "so and so" is using our service. Business owners love proof or testimonials that what they are paying for works.

    Hope that helps a little.

That's pretty much what I got from an upscale bar owner I was talking to on Tuesday. He asked me two times if there was someone nearby that I had signed up for the service. I might close a restaurant nearby and if that happens this guy will be on board next month. They really want to know if other people they know are doing it.

        Master,
i might also add, that a work around with no clients, talk about
things business owners understand, in your case
i might use the phrase "First Mover Advantage with a strong Return
on Investment..." knowing how powerful this is Mr. Bar Owner, would
you want to wait til your competetion was using this before you
        make a decision?

Also - I would reccomend focusing your Efforts on asking Good Strong
Probing Questions to the business owner... Identify their true Needs, Wants
and Desires... at the end of the day, they want ROI and Profits nothing
more. Become their Solution, not just another salesperson...

        Just my 2 cents...

        Regards,

  • If you are able to reach at the conversion stage and still not able to convert it then the best way is to get the feedback from client itself. Just ask them humbly what exactly is stopping them to buy your services.
Another crucial point here is - in case you are getting qualified leads from your sales call app. Some clients want to hear from you just for getting the information so that they might use their services at some point later, so you need a good follow up system for which AvidMobile provides the best service.
