Is it bad to consistently add & remove pages? (Listing directory)

Hi guys,

I am thinking of putting something together in the real estate niche. I am just wondering, if I sell listings (one per property) and in one month let's say I have 40 properties signed up - what happens if after a month some of those are sold or the agent doesn't want to re-list a property for any reason.

I would take it 'off' the website and therefore the page disappears. What happens now? Is it bad for SEO?

I obviously wouldn't be building any links to the 'listing pages', but would it be possible to just re-direct the URL of where the listing used to be back to the home page and have everything be okay?

Thanks!

That would be fine, imho. It's the nature of your site.

    Hi -

Yeah, OR you could create a page that says "Another one SOLD!" and then give some basic information regarding the real estate services and office contact information so that they can get in touch regarding similar properties. So...Have the those pages link to that basic page - that way you can keep optimized 'content' on the site (always helpful!) AND you create a kind of feel for the customer that says that that particular real estate agent or office is really on it and selling properties like crazy!
