contacting businesses

Does anyone know of a site or service that offers contact information for each person in a chain of command of a business, like sales directors, general managers, etc?

I'm particularly trying to contact the sales directors...

This is the only one I've ever used, although there are others (InfoUSA maybe?)

Salesgenie - Quality Business and Consumer Leads for Sales & Marketing

It's be 5 or 6 years, but the service worked well enough at the time.

Reference USA... You can find out log in details at your local library OR you can signup at thetelemarketingforum.com and you can have access to their list (theres like 18 million or so on there) and you can modify it to find out the owner, general manager, president, etc.... I know theres a one time fee to have access it...not too much money but well worth it for lifetime access to the regularly updated leads...(i'm not an affiliate or anything)

My personal recommendation would be LinkedIn. If used correctly, the people you want are likely there and you can likely connect with them in a MUCH more valuable way than if you are looking at a compiled list.

I signed up for a linkedin account just now only to find out I can't view the name or address of this sales director even if I upgrade my account, because he's "not in my network." If they ARE in your network, does this give you their physical address and name? I need the name and address of this person.

The way to use Linked In is to connect with those you know...then, those person's connections are available to you via an introduction...as your network increases, pretty soon, you will be a 2nd or 3rd connection to just about anyone you want to get to know...request an introduction and go from there. If you are JUST looking for public info such as addresses and such, that is the "cold territory" that I never enter so I wouldn't be a good resource as I only contact folks via warm connections. Good luck though!

Yeah there are list sites that sell it. Sorry don't know any good ones, they can sometimes be a bit hit and miss as people change jobs frequently these days. Above recommendation looks good.

    A couple of other ways:
Telemarketing campaign to call and ask for "X positions name" and email address.

If you have a friend in sales they usually already have these lists on their own big databases.

Do a JV with someone that has a targeted database of customers you want. e.g. send all the sales managers on the list a "free marketing consultation" pitch it as a gift from the company sending it.

P.S. I always just aim to send it to the top, the person who benefits most when the company makes more money. This way they often hand it down to a manager and tell them to handle it. From there you just help the manager look good and do their job.

You could probably call around and ask the secretary who is the sales director at their company.

Yes Reference USA allows you to have access to the owners name... Not to every single business but about 50-60% of them. YOu can modify the search to figure out the GM, OWner and other titles... Like I said though you don't have to "sign up" you just have to go to your local library for access.
