Site Rental Model - Choosing Keywords?

Hey everyone,

How do you guys approach choosing keywords to rank your rental sites for? and how many do you target?

I guess you could just pick a few of the higher traffic ones (e.g. philadelphia lawyer) or you could just target 10-20 of the low competition ones....

I am also following Dr. Dan's Google Love method using classifieds, and my ads are pretty consistently appearing on page 2 of results for a lot of my low competition keywords, even after pixelpipe and ping fm'ing them - but they are still largely not on page 1...

Just wondered how you guys approach this sort of thing?

Thanks,
Steve.

if you are stuggling to rank on page one for keywords, i would not go after something like philadelphia lawyer. i would be absolutely shocked if there were not several law firms in the top spots with 5-10 yr old exact match domains and seo firm pushing them to the top w/ thousands of indexed backlinks. not saying you couldn't get there, but be prepared for a year long battle.

niche it out a bit, don't analyze competition "numbers", but just what is showing in that top 10. i like to targer 4-6 variations of industry+city , or vice versa, add state, plural/singular, etc...

but i am only starting so don't take my advice like its "the word"....
    have i seen ranking succes...yes
have i seen traffic success....some (depends on your interpretation)
have i sought out clients yet....no
