How should I prepare my info-packet/proposal?

I've decided I want to send business owners and packet to tell them about my SMS service and the benefits. I also have want to inform them of the perks of going with my service and my pricing plan. I want it to be professional but more than just a couple printed papers in an envelope. How should I do this? A spiral notebook? Make a brochure?

The thing you have to consider here is that no one cares about you or your whiz bang SMS service.

I know that might come as a shock.

But a man only cares about . . . himself.

If your marketing messages aren't talking about the prospect, his business, his pain, his problems, his emotions, those messages will be ignored and filed under C.

This post is as true as it is blunt. Business owners are a paranoid and selfish bunch. The beauty in that is there is a huge hole in both of these personalities. They are somewhat easy to manipulate with a good sales pitch that is directed at what they really want.

If you walk in with some dry, boring presentation you might as well walk in and just start punching yourself in the face. With the face act you have a better chance at converting because some of them will pity you. But let the self inflicted beating be your last resort.

Think about what these people really want and a good way is just to ask them. If they are looking for more free time after work to pursue their passions you need to pitch that your service will help reduce the amount of hands on time they have with marketing. If they are only looking to make more money explain that well with some type of guarantee.

Make it quick and to the point, and make sure to catch their eye in the first few things you say. Most people if they are not interested from the start they won't read the rest.

Don't come across with ego, show them how and why they will make money. Make them feel they need you, not that you need them

RRG is dead right in his post above. Speak to the self-interest of your target market. In your case, you want to talk about things like:

    * store owners who are upset that they don't have a means to quickly bring in customers to even out revenues on slow days

    * business owners who are frustrated with pretty websites that do nothing, and are actively seeking another way to approach potential clients that doesn't take up much of their time

    * service providers (eg. Surf Camp) who are concerned that they will be unable to easily keep in touch with their summer clients all year round, and the interest in fun events that could be months away will die.

    Is this helpful?

Chad Wyatt's SMS Wordpress plugin. I get 1¢ texts. Much better than any other service available. No monthly fee other than $1 for the phone number. All the keywords I could possibly want.

I am not familiar with Chad's plugin but those rates would be the same other places as long as you are using a service that uses twilio in the backend and just gives you the pass through cost instead of marking it up.

After dealing with these prospects talking works best and maybe after the meeting a sum up of your meeting via brochure.
These people don't give a damn about it they just want to make money..

I would go with the brochure. If your service's price is high, you can afford it. Plus you should offer images that partially shows your services in action, and what your potential client can expect to receive.

Write a headline such that the first thing the business owner thinks is, WOW....this will make ME money!

It might focus on bringing in more customers

    Closing more sales

    Expanding the business

Connect with the reader's emotions first and then lead into how your service is what they need to realize their dreams.

I have to agree and make a brochure but all about the benefits the customer can receive. Try to line up an appointment and then you will have a chance to talk face to face and you have more chance of getting the job.

Some people offer their first month free and show the customer that they can get them more customers by increasing their page ranking in Google. It depends what you feel comfortable to offer.

Asking a question in the headline works very well because it is thought provoking and makes the client decide then if they are going to read the rest of your information. The question can be a pain a benefit whatever you would like.
