Help with PPC Ad Proposal

I have a client that I am going to submit a PPC ad proposal to. I thought I would charge $100 to set up his account and $50/mo maintenance. The advertising budget would be extra. Does this sound right? Too much? Too little? Any other advice on a proposal of this kind would be greatly appreciated, for this is my first PPC campaign.....

Without knowing what type of business your client is in, those figures sound a little low. You really don't want to just create an account, an ad, toss some keywords in and hope for the best - so to do it right I think you are way undervaluing yourself with those numbers.

Depends on what you are doing. But to me that seems like too little. With prices like that as a business owner or manager I would expect minimal work from you each month.

If it is a set it and forget it campaign that is fine but if you need to do work it should be more.

On something like this I think you need to get a feel for what the business wants done and quote based on that. And I would quote at least $50/hr based on the time I think it will take to set up and run each month. So if you plan to spend 5 hours a month on this the monthly fee should be $250 IMO. I might even suggest $500 depending on the company. But make sure you are making enough money to be worth your time. And when you figure in taxes and such myself i can't see charging less than $50/hr.

He is a bail bondsman. He is working out of his house, not a big business. The ad would be a set it and forget it going for one keyword phrase. Thanks for the posts. Every posts helps me reevaluate my proposal.

For a simple set and forget that could be very fair but don't under price yourself or underestimate what he needs.

For a set and forget with minimal maintence like that I would go 50 to 100 monthly but like $250 up front for set up.

Also I would set up the google account with his credit card. That way you don't get stuck paying for his ads.

Here's how it went. I was tossing and turning last night til 6:30 AM. Got up at 10:45 AM and woke up for an hour.

Called this guy and set up a 1:00 PM. Went over there and sold him 4 months maintenance @ 50/mo, $200. Plus 100 for setup, plus 300 for advertising budget. Total $600. After paying for advertising that is 300 profit. I sold him 4 months by throwing in a google places listing for free.
Already mentioned a phone website for the future. This client could be a real asset in the future for other services.

I left his appointment and went to a guy's home and talked to him about a website. Gonna give a proposal later this week.

I've been offline one week today.

I worked four days last week. So far I sold a website last week and this ad package today. I sold 2 out 4 appointments, with one proposal on the third. The forth one is still biting the line, we'll just wait and see.

I've been using John Durham's cold calling script for getting leads. So far I only called about 6 hours and have been busy for a week. Now tomorrow it's time to start again. That phone's gonna be a lot lighter this week.......LOL
