Just Closed My First Offline Client!

Hallelujah! Just closed first client! I started off small but now realize I can get more for my efforts. $497 website for 5 pages with an addon of 5 pages at $150 with a 12 month commitment of SEO services at $197 per month. Going to try to upsell a mobile website for $250. We'll see. The niche is not too competitive so I believe I can rank 1st page within a couple months. Thanks to all who have answered a lot of my questions and have provided a great deal of information!

Congratulations! Did you use any materials or WSO's in this forum to make the sale? Just wondering how you presented this sale, did you use a website, brochure, etc?

        That's Awesome.

You just planted the first seed in your customer garden. Continue planting them and taking care of them, and you'll soon have a bountiful harvest that you can live on.

Ok. Maybe that was a little corney....but you get the idea...lol.

Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?

    - Are you going to use wordpress to set up the site?
    - Do you do your own SEO or outsource it?
    - How did you land this client, cold calling, email?

I'm very happy for you and look forward to your next thread Just Closed ANOTHER Offline Client!

Yes I'm going to use Wordpress or the Homestead like John Durham spoke of.

I will be doing my own on page SEO but outsourcing the off page stuff so I can keep my time open for new clients.

I landed this client by actually cold calling. I called 21 businesses and landed 3 meetings in which I closed this one. That was from Monday calls. Now I need to get back on the phones!

      Hope this helps!

Congrats! Now, that is great to hear. I am going to place this in my motivation bin. I know my area is ripe for the picking, but cold calls gives me the shivers!hahaa! I just have to step out of my comfort zone of emailing.

Dont think of it as cold calling - That sucks. Think of it as "Building Your Business" or "getting it into operation" or "Getting it some traction and beyond just an idea...".

Thats more like "fun and excitement"... Its more like "WOW HONEY!! We are really in business now! Someone gave us money for our services and I DID IT!!!!"

      YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats what a few hours of cold calling will have you saying.

      Hope this helps!

      PS. CONGRATS mlmmarketingguy!

    Sweet deal!

SEO for a year a solid! Do right by this client and then hit him/her up for referrals! Getting that first client tho is such a great feeling. Now you'll have a experience you can talk about when you are chatting with new prospects.

    At MLM Marketing Guy.

I myself am going to learn wordpress, and I suggest that if you have any technical skill at all because in the long run you CAN do alot more with it, HOWEVER, I also want to tell you with all my heart and soul that this is true "I DO have homestead sites on google that are ranked number one for their keywords", and homestead is very easy to optimize and get ranked with. So its perfect for a newby to working with web projects.

Some of my sites rank on the first page within 3 days and tend to stay that way... Also , for your confidence, alot of the people who read the "NEWBIES Read This...!!" thread are using homestead and landing and maintaining clients with it now... So it DOES work.

Still for your growth if you have time to learn (Homestead is so easy it doesnt take 3 hours to learn) then learn WP because it is more sophisticated technically although I have to tell you that I dont think the designs are as good as some homestead designs...

When Im on a WP site, I usually can tell just by the design or the way it feels, they all have a similar layout it seems... Homestead has ALOT of different free templates at homestead.com that are pretty amazing and you can have them up in no time.

I just feel like it would be good to know both for me personally, so Im going to learn aweber this year.

    Last note: (For your encouragement).

I have been using homestead for about 8-10 years now and have made hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales with it... So...You cant wrong either way.

    Good luck brother!

Thanks John! I LOVE the inspiration that you tend to put out there! I am very familiar with WP as I have built all of my sites on it BUT I agree with you regarding the look of WP and that is why I am thinking of going with Homestead.com to give it a try to see how well they look!.....

You are very insightful and your knowledge is amazing! Thank you a TON!

John, when you posted a similar thread in the War Room (I think it was the War Room), I had butterflies in my stomach. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. You spelled out it and I am going to start a homestead account this week.

Before I read your thread, I already had my goals planned with writing, creating an ebook, etc., and I have to finish what I started before taking on something new or I run scattered and can't stay focused.

Just wanted to thank you for your post and I have no doubt your technique will work. Thank you! -Lori
