Offering Facebook Pages to Offline Businesses?

Hello. I want to begin offering Facebook pages to offline businesses but am confused on the process on how to get the customers. I want to target them through email but was wondering where should I look?

Should I go through every page in Google Places, go to the businesses site then email them, or use Craigslist, or?

Any help would be appreciated.

If it's within your budget there are tons of programs in the WSO section that will harvest businesses and it'll return if they have Facebook, Twitter etc.

If not then yes you have to manually search G Places, Yelp, YP etc.

Better off doing cold calling because

        1) Not a lot of businesses will have websites and thus emails cutting down into the amount of prospects you can contact.
        2) Emails are easily ignored.
        3) Cold calling is a more personal approach compared to some text on a screen.

Could you also PM me those?

I do agree with Justin on cold calling, but sure, some people are shy or not willing to go the extra mile. It is understandable to just want to email. You can try craigslist, I have success there, but many don't because of the competition and the general crummy clients it will produce.

Should I just go to YellowPages, and Yelp and start emailing businesses in a certain niche manually or invest in software?

  • I find personally walking in and talking to them on a 1 on 1 level beats anything electronic. There is nothing more fundamental than that 1 on 1 connection.

I'd begin with my research into Yell.com or Google and target a certain type of business in your town/region. You'll soon see who has a site, or not (double prospect!). Then look at the site and see if they have any Facebook interaction and also any Google Place taken. Then email them and aim to book a 'free' appointment to help them get free business from Facebook and Google. Have they claimed their Google Places registration yet? Aim to book an appointment or call, rather than just sending an email.

Also target lawyers, accountants/CPAs, brokers and offer a referral commission deal - these are great businesses to build relationships with, as they can often refer clients to you (and you maybe pay a fee, or offer to manage their fanpage for free). Then once you have them on board, target their competitors and pitch for their FB page and offer a referral deal too!
