Are daily deals devaluing your business?

I just wrote this blog on daily deals and their potential to ruin the selling price of your product. I talk about some of the options and alternatives. I would love to receive any and all feedback, thanks,

The one important thing to remember is that if you are going to utilize a daily deal make sure that when you see those redemptions come through that you really take the time to attend to these customers because it may be your only opportunity to convert them.

The problem with daily deals offline is most businesses fail to execute these in a way which is beneficial to them, beyond the day's bottom line.

For example, lets say your daily deal is for a significant discount. However in order to get this, do you just ring them up and let them go? Or do they have to give up their email address to you - or write a positive review if you want to go that way...

The key though is 2 parts, 1 is to make sure the business sees value in doing these type of deals, the other key is making sure it does not consume the business's entire presence. If it does, they won't be in business for much longer.

Most businesses consider daily deals just as marketing costs, since they typically lose money on per coupon bought and used. So, in the long run, I don't think it has any measurable impact on the business's value.

It is totally an advertising cost, it is how you interact with purchasers that provides the value. The whole reason behind my blog was because I have literally seen a business abuse daily deals so much they have to lower their selling price.
