How I Made 5,000 In my First 2 Weeks of Offline Marketing

by Becker13 Banned

Title says it all..
Hey I originally wrote this article/blueprint for my blog Source Wave however I wanted to share it here as well.

In short, after reading the fast cash WSO by Rob Jones. ( I also reccomend the C4 Method and The SEO strategies of Mario Brown/Brian Anderson) I was inspired to start doing offline SEO for 4 reasons

-Its is far more untapped then fighting tooth and nail over competitive keywords in google

-I am a extremely charming guy and very good at persuading people to do stuff ( I work part time as a dating coach, so talking to strangers is kinda my forte)

-I used to make sales calls all the time for an old job I worked. So this is nothing new

-I am very good at SEO

Long story short, after about 2 weeks of cold calling I had landed 3 clients who combined paid me a sum close to 5,000 dollars.

I will not lie. I am a charming guy and I did use a my companies website to help me sell my offer. However, what I did was by no means hard...at all.

Here is my companies website if you would like an example (not totally done, but done enough to show a client) I used the Productz Woo Theme

On top of this, here is the exact method I used when calling and selling to clients. I did not come up with myself (not that it is that creative). I combined stuff I learned from a few WSOs and by talking to other offline marketer

(again this was originally made for my blog)

How I Made My First 5 grand offline..In 2 Weeks

ey guys Becker here,

I am in a pretty good mood because I just deposited a a couple checks totaling almost 5000 dollars into my bank account..

The funny thing is they were not from adsense…they were not from clickbank… hell they were not even generated by MY websites.

Check 1 was from a Dentist named Greg
Check 2 was from a MMA Gym owner
Check 3 was from a lawyer named Matthew
What the F…

Why the fu*k are random people paying me 5 figure checks?

Lets Do Some Math
Gregs average client can make him over 5,000+ over their customer lifetime

The MMA Gym owner can increase his yearly income by 6,000 by bringing in and keeping 5 new clients

The lawyer can easily make 10k from a ONE TIME client

The Big Picture
Ranking a easy non competitive keyword that has 300-1000 search a month (Lawyers in Abilene Texas) will do VERY little for me. However, if a lawyers website ranks for that keyword and he has a very low 1% conversion rate it could possibly earn him a extra 10k+ a month

(Maybe I should be a lawyer =P )

So…
Can you see why a business owner would gladly pay me a few thousand dollars to do simple SEO for him when it pays for itself and then some..
Now Get This

It literally only took me 2 whole weeks to bring in these clients by making a few phone calls. On top of this it MAYBE took me 5 hours of SEO work to full fill ALL of their contracts.

So this made me wonder… Why the f was I spending months trying to rank for tough keywords that MIGHT make me 500-1000 a month, when I could be ranking for easy keywords that will consistently make this kinda of money.
How you can do this too

So, in nature of this blog I want to share exactly how I did this for the sum of free. This method does not require you to be an SEO expert or do anything really that extraordinary. If you have ranked a semi competitive keywords on the 2nd page of Google or understand the basics on SEO your ready to do this.
Step 1: Find Potential Clients

(Very Simple)
  • Alright, go to Google. Type in your local area+a business (that has a high value per customer).
  • Go the the second page of google. Find a businesses website that in there. Look at the site, see if it could use some improvement (remember a lot of businesses could use a new website as well.)
  • Find a competing business in the same niche that is ranking highly and write it down.
  • Find that businesses contact information…Boom you have a potential client
Step 2: Get A Meeting

Look the last thing you want to do is try to sell some one over the phone. 99% of the time you will have zero success because it is impossible to do that much convincing via the phone. Here is what I have been doing
  • Introduce your self casually and ask for whoever is in charge of advertising
  • When you get them on the phone mention that when you were using Google you noticed they are no where to be found on the first page for relevant keywords
  • Show them that their competition that is ranking on the first page and explain how that they are drastically cutting into their potential profits
  • Explain to him that you are able to solve the problem and ask if he would be interested in scheduling a free meeting to go over a few solutions.

Step 3: Selling At The Meeting

The worst thing I think you can do when you go to a meeting is make it even a wee bit salesy. Dress nice, but right from the get go talk to the business owner as a friend would to a friend. Business owners are approached by 1000 scummy sales men a day, rise above that **** and they will appreciate it.

So
Do not go in there with a briefcase or mention selling **** right away.

Do not refer to him as sir and all that gay ****. Do not be a bitch (your a consultant and head of your own business…not some sales boy).

Be warm and casual (I have cussed in every single one of my meetings and been extremely casual in my meetings. Friend to friend, not business owner to sales person)

And Follow These steps
  • Shoot the **** with them a bit, if they have pictures or stuff that they are obviously interested in their office talk about that. A business owner had a guitar picture in his office and we talked for 15 minutes about guitars, by the time we were done he pretty much already had his checkbook out.
  • Explain how they are losing business by ranking low in Google and then in the simplest way possible explain how you can help (EX I do online marketing, basically I can get you from here (page two) to here (page 1) . This will get your more customers, if you can handle it *lol* )
  • After this almost every owner will ask how much this will cost. What I have found works best is to explain to them that you run your own business and usually get away charging a arm and a leg for this service. However since they are in the local area and you are here honestly looking to help you will do it for a reasonable price.
  • Walk out with a check and a very excited customer ( Every single one has thanked me for the deal…be sure to get their site login information as well)
Step 4: Rank Their Site Fast

If you read this blog a lot you probably already know what tool I use (Blog Blue Pirnt). It indexes powerful blog links fast and literally has ranked all my clients sites on the first page in a day or two since the keywords are uncompetitive. Here are my exact steps
  • Log into their site admin and change the on-page SEO to focus on 5 relevant keywords
  • Go into Blog Blueprint and send links to the page for the 5 keywords (4 links for each works)
  • Make an ezine article (overkill)
  • Rinse and repeat 2 days in a row ( That is it….lol)
Step 5: Call The Owner and Set Up a Monthly Maintenance Fee

After about 2 days, BB ranks pretty much any uncompetitive keyword first page. What I do then is call up the business owner and simply show them the results. After that I explain that these rankings will go away pretty fast without monthly maintenance. I then set up a reoccurring fee that is about half of the initial price.

Step 6: Play Video Games

Just like that you have pocketed a 5 figure paycheck and also have a recurring payment for doing VERY little coming in once a month. Pretty simple eh?

Thats.. err…it

That is pretty much all I got for you guys today. Hopefully this has put some ideas on your head to what you can do with all that SEO knowledge you have in your head. The best thing is most businesses need MUCH more than just SEO services (site redesign, facebook fan pages, and email marketing campaigns)

So get out there and err…make money =D

Some other stuff

My conversion rate for getting a meeting was about 1 every 15 calls. I am 100% so far in meetings (Im just so nice they cant say no..lol)

I made up the pricing based on how much I knew it would make the business owner

I did SEO, google places and social media stuff for the businesses (and yes I charge a monthly maintainence fee)

At first my calls went horribly, however after about 15 calls, I was very comfortable

Overall, if you want to make money doing offline stuff, stop buying a new WSO on it every day and doing research. Instead pick up the phone and learn first hand

Overall I got 5,000 for making around 50 phone calls, and going to 3 30 minute meetings. The SEO was also trivial...thats a danm good deal to me

What is in this article is virtually all you really need (besides experience)

Hope it helps!
-Becker

If you would like some good books that actually help with this

How to win friends and influence people by dale carnegie (and his other books) are amazing for selling to people

Also, NLP books by Richard Bandler are awesome to. (not for hypnotizing, but learning how important the words you use are when you are talking to people)

    Becker,

This sounds great and I've considered this before. But here is my question.

What if you somehow get the site to lose ranking or be penalized or deindexed or something? Then they would probably be pretty mad at you. And if you're using programs for blasting out backlinks, this is always a possibility isn't it? If they were on the second page of Google they still might be getting something for that. If you worsen their position you could really damage them. The same reason this can make you money, which is that even one client can be very valuable to them, is why it could be really damaging for them if you hurt their ranking.

Also, you could see this happen even without any fault of your own. Look what Google Panda is doing to sites right now, even ones that have done all the right things sometimes. So what happens if their site loses rank? Would you have to pay them back?

Nice post and simple to implement.

A few questions if you don't mind.

    1. You mention you show them that site with SEO pricing and say you can do 3 times as the platinum package for a 1/3 of the price. Seeing that the package listed on that site is $5000/mo do you charge them then $1500-$1700 for the initial SEO and that is the amount of the check that you walk away with?

    2. You say you do 3 times as much, but then you just focus on 5 keywords and build 8 links (40 total links after 2 days) to each keyword. That package says it is for 20 keywords. How do you justify your work to client if they question why you did the work for 5 keywords when you mentioned to them that you would 3x the work? Can you elaborate a bit on this?

    3. Is your monthly fee would then be like $750-$800 a month based on the initial numbers? How many links do build per month for the client? The platinum one indicates 165 so are you doing more than this and do you use other ways to build links besides Blog Blueprint?

    3. Also for the SEO part how are you focusing 5 keywords on one page (i.e. homepage) of the client? Are you just using keywords like "city lawyers, lawyers city, lawyers in city, lawyer in city, and city lawyer" and including those on their homepage content and then using those as keywords to build your backlinks?

By the way it looks BB is no longer accepting people so would something like BMR work as well in this case?

Marty: Yes I do, I am actually doing reputation managment for a bar near me as well (the reviews n such)

    Builder:
What I have found with these sites and keywords is that the rules of big searchs do not apply as much ( For all the sites simply changing the on page SEO and sending a few link is more than enough to get first page)

Also, since the sites literally are the most relevant sites for the search I really do not see google taking them down (i have also not been slapped in almost a year..Most of my sites are authority type sites..google loves those)

Wilder: I ammmmm sooooo charming (I also have the ability to talk out of my ass for hours on end...a essential tool of any salesman =D )

Mr. Trance: I dont necessarily use that site. It is very easy to find overpriced SEO all over google (most of the time people charge 5k for just simple stuff) Just find overpriced SEO and show it to them.

Also, you are looking way way into the site i used as an example and the numbers. This is what I do, I highly encourage you to come up with your own way of doing things. I also make a ton of stuff up on the fly depending on what I think a person is thinking, going in with a set in stone plan is a recipe for spazzing yourself out.

Use this as a rough blueprint instead of a set in stone checklist

Honestly, for local SEO (like i said before) 5 links is enough to rank first or first page. Remember my biggest selling point isnt the stats I give the clients..It the fact that I am actual genuine person who actually wants to help them. (go figure giving 2 sh*ts about your clients sells..whoda thought!)

There are two blog blueprints.. I use SEO Blog blueprint . They are still accepting and are incredible for simple and complicated SEO

Winsoar: Hey, no I have not (actually did not know what a BNI meeting was till about a week ago) Would enjoy going to one though

Great post. Few questions for you:

    - You must be the most charming guy in the world if you're able to get past gatekeepers easily. What do you say to the secretary/gatekeeper for them to let you speak to your prospect when coldcalling? Both dentists and lawyers have gatekeepers, and many are told not to pass sales calls to them - especially because some businesses get 3+ calls from seo guys per day.
    - Can you break down the pricing you charge those 3 clients including the monthly charge.
    - Does your 1 appointment per 15 calls include no answer phone calls?
    - You've said multiple times that local business keywords are not the most competitive. True, for low volume, keywords off in low populated cities. But what about real keywords like "Seattle dentist", "Seattle Realtor", "Seattle Chiropractor", ect. Those are not rank in 2 week keywords, what would be your strategy for those.
    - During the meetings did they ask for proof of other clients you ranked? What did you show them?

      Hey daniel.

For gatekeepers, I do something very simple...ask for the owner by their first name =P. Plus, I have really never had an issue with this because like I stated I do no sounds sales mannish at all.

Most people call up sounding like ass hats. Hello this is Sunny Day SEO. How would you like to improve your business today!!! *click*

Hey...how are you? Is Matt there?

Hes busy? Ha, alright do you know when he is usually not busy?8 in the morning? Alright thank you, can you just tell him Alex Becker called.

Why? Its about the firm. Ill call back later

*gate keepers are goonies who get paid 7 dollars an hour to answer phones, your again a important business owner, you dont need to explain **** to them. Also by asking for them by their first name it naturally implys you know them*

This is by NO MEANS some tried n true magic bullet. This is just how I talk to people. Most guys who try offline SEO I feel have never taken much time trying to understand how to talk to people and gain rapport with them. (not that I am some offline expert)

      For pricing

I charge people how much I think I can get away with..the end =P. Of course the lawyer has bigger pockets then the gym owner.

      For Keywords
      Look man seattle= Very competitive

Now look at seattles suburbs... I used to live in dallas, and when i search for something in google i didnt type in Dallas dentist, I typed in PLANO dentist.

Look at area codes and the smaller areas. Seattle is a massive city, most people work in the cities, they dont live there...they live in the suburbs.

Niche it down even more though. Each city has districts and area codes.

If you live in NYC would you type in Grocery store in NYC or Grocery store in Queens =P

      For Proof
I have multiple sites that rank for far more competitive keywords. All I had to do was show them the google searches.

      Also
I made this thread to show that anyone can pretty much pull this off. I was not following some UNTAPPEND TRIED AND TRUE SIMPLE 3 STEP wso method or gameplan. I picked up my phone, was real with people, and then made up stuff as I went.

The big point is instead of asking what if or coming up with the PERFECT plan. Go do sh*t and learn from your mistakes and personal experience instead

      Thanks for the questions!

Thanks for the reply. Not questioning you to try and find some secret "loopholes" or tricks that you've got so I don't have to learn the hard way, I've learned the system that works best for me after 1000s of coldcalls.

Yes i agree 100% not to sounds like a used car salesman when you call, but many secretaries, although paid only $8/hr, are trained at least to the level of asking what the call is in regards to, and will quickly let you go after you tell them. Asking by name is helpful, if you have it, but even then they will usually ask why you're calling - especially in the professional services industry.

This is a great post, very motivating, but 1 appointment per 15 calls I would wager is not the norm. I look for 1 out of 50, if it's a good day, and my "script" is very similar to yours.

Hats off on the great selling and post anyhow.

Honestly my loophole is I have worked as a cold approach (approaching strangers) dating coach for a good while and I spent a good 2 years basically perfecting that. (Ive made over +1000 cold calls to errr...girls..over that time period..helps a ton)

Dude Becker, its so crazy but cold approaching for me is way less scarier than cold calling because I'm face to face.

I'm a way better seller face to face. Which probably explains why I"m bad at talking to girls on the phone. Btw, I'm the dude you gave a consultation to in Toronto(I have a different handle on RSDN).

Your consultation was a great starting point but have you heard of 7878's methods? I think its perfect for guys who hate cold calling.

Its hilarious, we have them all done(packets) but we can't send them out since we are too broke to afford postage until we get our next sum of cash.

Best advice, because most people just say be respectful but I actually like and prefer the Gordon Ramsay style. :p You damn right Becker, YOU'RE A BUSINESS OWNER! AND WE SHOULD BEHAVE LIKE ONE. Can't wait to start the offline adventure soon after exams are over in November.

    Really motivated me.

For all you who have questions about the cold calling part, get a job as a cold-calling salesman part-time for a little while. You'll end up learning a lot anyways.

And since I am charming as well, this will probably work out well for me

Also, being able to make your clients see the value of simply getting 1 new client each month will help heaps for conversion rates. - Which is why focusing on niches with much money is the way to go.

Yeppers, when I was in the air force I answered a phone for some high ranking people for 6 months.

Knowing how the person answering the phone feels helped me with this a ton

      For example:

If a guy called up telling me about who hes was and random stuff, id rarely make to much of a effort to forward it up since unimportant people always felt the need to explain themselves

However if some guy called up and said

Hey...is floyd there...whens he gonna be back..tell him so-so called

Id be like...danm..he must be important/expected to just ask for my boss like that. Just to be safe I better make sure this get forwarded up, wouldnt want my boss missing something important because of me

I really enjoyed the c4 method by jerome and russ ruffinos last WSO (very reliable WSO creator..) Mario Brown and brian anderson also have great SEO strats.

However what I wrote above is all you really need information wise..it worked for me ( I am assuming you know SEO

Again I am still very new to this..but my 2 cents is

Every WSO I have read on Offline stuff is about easy ways to get clients (because it sells) . Calling people can be very intimidating, but that is about it...People NEED a online presence, and even if your meh at selling you will still find buyers

What REALLY needs to be focused on his how to understand what businesses really need and ways you can obtain the skills to do so (learning PPC, attracting solid leads, building high converting websites for them, coming up with actual business strategies)

and overall how to run a successful business ( I am pretty clueless at the moment lol)

If you look at all the offline heroes around the warrior forum, they succeed because they are business men with a KILLER product, not because they have a super secret routine that gets clients

anyhoo there is no shortage of clients

I was just speaking with 2 of my friends today and both of their fathers are desperate for someone to do online marketing for them.

On top of that my boss (I just started bar tending at a club on the weekends..seemed like fun) literally complained in front of me about not knowing how to run a facebook fan page. I was like a horny chi wa wa on that.

3 very likely new clients just by I dono..talking to people. However both my friends dads DO NOT need SEO, they need PPC, Email marketing and conversions. (And the bar owner is pretty much sold on mobile marketing)

Thank god I know how to do all that

What I personally think people should do is maybe read 1 or 2 WSOs on offline and then go and the go an obtain so many skills that you have something that is BAD ASS for EVERY client..not just SEO

Also in the end, SEO is not in your control. PPC, Converting, etc always will be

Again. Just my thoughts, I could be wrong bout a few things

EXACTLY what I'm also thinking. I'm a total newbie (web wise other than Facebook know-how) who has marketing in her veins...who saw a need for local businesses to get on Facebook and possibility get a one-page website...

And now, this forum has also showed me the need for Google Places, SEO, and so many other marketing tools!!

I'm so overwhelmed... I feel like I have to run with it, but I would like to have it all set-up before I run...so that I can offer as much as possible to my clients!

Outsourcing seems like the quickest way for me... I feel it could take me forever to learn all of this! Thoughts?

Charm can work. When I got a call, like you stated before, this is so and so from XYZ Company and I can [promise you millions], I hung up on them.

If the caller approached me in a different way - casual and honest, I cracked the door open. If the caller was sincere and offered a more "I can help you" approach, I was intrigued and would ask how. That started a conversation.

It was up to me to recommend who my boss talked to. If I told my boss, I think this is something you might be interested in. You might want to give this guy a call and see what he's got to say.

If someone made it past me, they're on first base and it's up to them to hit the home run.

Edit - you ever call me honey or sweetie, I guarantee the next thing you hear is a click or a dial tone. : )

Just Signed Another Client..Heres What I Did

This kinda half counts because I work as a bar tender at the guys club every once in awhile, not really a cold call kinda thing. Anyhoo here is what I did

I looked up search terms related to the club IE

    Bars *local area* *near*
Drink Specials *local area* *zip code*
    (you get the idea)

I saw he was not ranking for any of them.

I looked up the site in google to see how it does in google place and with reviews

Again very far down in google places

and it had a bunch of 1 star reviews..one even saying that the floor of the place was coated in throw up (It is actually a very nice club, this is obviously a angry loony bin)

So I stopped by when the place was down, but the staff was doin paper work

I told the owner I saw some stupid stuff that was probably messing up business in google and asked him if he had seen it (of course not)

I showed him the bad reviews

I showed him how all the other bars were outranking his

And then I told him he could really start making a lot more money if he fixed this. I then also told him that I have heard of a TON of bars doing very well with mobile marketing

I then laid out a scenario for him

"Basically, imagine if it is a dead night and you could just send out a text and BOOM a ton of people in the bar district instantly get a text informing them of an insane drink special that is going on for the next 30 minutes. Just like that you could get a instant boost for just a little text"

    Now heres the kicker

I told him I would set this up for next to nothing and give him a quick boost in google because I just want to help the bar out a little

    Why?

This guy literally knows hundreds of business owners in the local area (and he owns a lot more than clubs)

Who do you think he is gonna end up recommending or end up going to in the future?...Suuuurge wolf

    =D

A couple of points and a question for Becker.

This Charm issue isn't a big factor in my opinion. A pal of mine was extremely successful with the ladies. He did have a lot going for him in looks and so on compared witih me and I mentioned it to him. He just said dismissively: "that's just more chatting..."[you've got to do]. These things are just practice, don't let lack of 'natural charm' stop you or even slow you down for a minute.

Another thing: In 'The 4 minute Workweek'. Tim Ferris offers some good tips on getting past gatekeepers. One of them is along the lines of what Becker gives, and another is phoning when the gatekeeper hasn't arrived yet, or has gone home.

The other thing: I'm in the UK and maybe that's a factor. But getting a check before you've started work? I find that hard to take on board. Is there something special you have to say to be able to bag a check upfront?

Might just be the UK. I have had a few clients pay for 3 months worth of service up front many times. I usually have a 3 week refund policy

Great results but I do not think this will be the average result for most warriors just starting out in the offline niche. Like you mentioned you have a lot of confidence, social skills and charm which go along way in closing sales.

I do think that with enough sales practice and development alot of warriors just starting out their online journey can reach your levels of success though. Keep up the good work.

I am wanting to go offline my self, I know how to do everything businesses need i.e. SEO, Mobile Websites, Mobile Marketing/Text Marketing, FB, etc. etc.

I just have been unsure how to approach the businesses to get that first client, it looks like you are cold calling, hmm, what's the worse they can so, no? or hangup? I like it. I thought about making my own generic "best businesstypehere cityhere.com" and ranking it, as my "see look what I can do". Then offering the low price to first 1 or 2 explaining I will up the price soon, and try to get a testimonial for my consultant site as part of the lower price.

I am definitely grabbing that book, as I have heard lots of good things about it.

I consider my self a charming guy, I was never a dating coach as I am once divorced, no one should take dating advice from me. BUT - If I am in a room full of strangers, I will have a good time, I always make friends. I have the gift "gab". I sold Cutco knives in high school and college, (so the rejection I am not afraid of), and made some pretty good money before joining the service.

Welp, guess it is time to stop talking about it, and make it happen.

One last question, I use SEnukeX, but I have always done that for affiliate sites, with very little fear of "sandboxing" my site because I can just make another one, and already have other ones, so I just blast away. The blog blue print is a "safer" SEO method? (having trouble with the review link, I think it is my computer)

Thanks for the post, honest, to the point, and motivating.

Got Another..With a Sales Video (shown here)

Hey wassup. Quick update. My friends father who owns a business just signed me on (I am gonna start outsourcing my seo)

He does not live in the local area though, so i could not meet with him to sell them.

Instead I created a free SEO analysis video and sent it to him. It looks **** hot (the video and its website)

he literally called me an hour later and was already sold.

Here is a link to the Video ( I edited it a bit by taking out a few sections to share it here, put it on youtube, and covered up my phone number at the bottom..the link at the bottom also goes to my blog)

Hopefully this helps anyone who kinda wants a blueprint thingy for sales videos

(I also intend to do this with all my future clients before meetings n stuff)

(also in reference to course in there, I co authored some, not taking full credit)

Just to confirm was it this video you meant SourceWave

Cos the ''Sales WF demo page'' just shows up with ''You Must Be Logged In To View This Content. If You Are A Member Click Here''

          Hey Edk yes Neil Strauss

Sorry I always refer to him as Styles cos he starts of an Neil Strauss and then becomes Styles.

But yeap its a very good book and like I say its not just about being good with the ladies its a lot deeper than that as the principles are applicable to life in general.

    Becker,

One thing you may want to be careful about is your clients being able to see your Youtube videos for other stuff when the video ends.

I used a different video display (screencast) for my client. I wanted to share what I did with the wf though, so I uploaded a edited video for here ( crossed out the number a removed a bunch of parts)

Hey Becker. Great post! I am really good at getting the SEO results that I promise but have some clients that aren't getting traffic or calls. The search terms that I have them ranking for are common to the ones you show in this post but because they are low comp keywords they are also low traffic keywords. Very little traffic is coming in to some of these sites but I'm using the keywords that are most relevant to the services these sites provide.

Any thoughts or comments on getting results for your clients?

Rank for bigger keywords and do PPC for them =D. (again I have just started) But SEO is also not for every business

Just wanted to say, Becker, nice job done! I just closed a deal myself. And this person had been screwed by their current/last SEO company.

As long as you are honest and show them what you can deliver, that's the way to go I think. Don't be nervous, have a conversation, ease their minds.

I think because I didn't oversell (he wants a FB page as well), some sort of trust was established. This one contract can pay my rent ($1500+) and I believe as long as I do proper marketing and land him new business every month, he will only upgrade.

And that's my first offline client. This is def. do-able folks. Creativity is the key. Your video was great too Becker. Killin' it!

Hey TigerRaging dude, Becker does have a cool site there, aye? Becker, did you design and create it yourself or outsource some of it?

Not sure about Becker's experience but I acquired my first client without having a professional site. I simply said I was building my client base here first. I did mention he could check out my LinkedIn profile. Not sure if he ever did that.

Very nice thread. Especially about "charming"!...

I am doing similar things too. Unfortunately I am not as charming as you are. But I do get clients in similar ways. Even though I am sure with lower conversion rate. I guess my initial numbers are higher.

And I agree with you that how much you charge clients depends on their customer values.

I need to go now and do my "charming" exercises..

Thanks everybody for your posts and the thread.

One thing that I always do (I actually learned this from my dating coach experience) is to warm myself up before talking to clients

Before you call a client, call one of your friends or family members and just talk. Once your social juices get going, it is way way easier to carry that momentum into your business calls

      Same thing applies to meetings

On a side note I have signed 2 more clients..a home inspection business and another doctor

Unfortunately they contacted me via my blog, so it wasnt not exactly due to anything I actively did :/

    Hi Becker13,

Thanks so much for this post it has really gotten me off my ass to go out and get clients

The only problem I have encountered is with using blog blueprint. The links don't seem to be getting indexed :s

I have bookmarked them, and then a couple of days later submitted the RSS feed to some directories, but still not getting picked up.

Have you ever had any problems like this with BB.

I have made about 25 blog posts in total for 0 backlinks recognized.

    Cheers

Your skills as a sales guy are amazing, but I'm a bit sceptical when it comes to your service. How can you be sure they won't pass on the maintenance? Or that they will honor the agreement/contract? You don't have a safe valve to turn in that case.

I'm interested in the Blog Blueprint method that you use. I've checked your review, though I'm unaware of how you pass PR so quickly. PM me if you don't mind, don't want the thread to go down the wrong path.

I dont know. I have not gotten to that base yet, but a few of my clients are already seeing increased profits, i highly doubt they are gonna just bail after the service pays for it self. Learning as I go though

    Becker -

I love the BB now, based on your recommendation from this post, I signed up.

I can see how it will EASILY rank local clients, as I have an affiliate website that is deep deep in the SERPS, about 80K searches monthly, millions of results, most days I check it is just going down. So I grabbed BB, and after building some links with BB, I have jumped way up for 3 keywords I was previously no where to be found for. Still no where near the first page, but the fact that the webmaster tools had all three jumping up hundreds of positions, with minimal effort (spun posts with BB).

So I am sold on how easy this will be for local keywords -

Its a tad different than SEO. It ranks by map citations and reviews from different sites.

I basically just use fiverr packages. Just go in and type google places in the search and youll find a few

Thanks for the great share Becker, the opportunities are huge when offering SEO services to local businesses. I think the most important part is that you must "qualify" your clients. Do some research on them, see if they are already spending money on advertising and make sure they have the budget to work with you.

For local sites, a long blog is not necessary, as long as the on-page is good, and you got some good back links, that is really all that is needed.

Hey if you read the original post, Becker uses Blog Blue print - it is great for local seo sites.. I use it now my self based on his recommendation. It works wonders on sites that already are in the SERPS and gives them that little nudge to the first page.

I just wrote a thread on how I was building my SEO confidence with local SEO keywords, and used a profile link wheel on fiverr.com .. just do your research on the gig..

    Hi Becker,

That is awesome. I have gained some great golden nuggets from reading this thread. You've been a generous, helpful warrior to lots of people here. I am subscribing to this thread as I hope to learn more from you and others contributing to it.

I have a question for you:

What tasks do you outsource, if any? Where do you have the best luck finding qualified outsourcers?

I want to delve into offline, but can't, and frankly, don't want to, do everything myself. If I need to do alot at the beginning, that makes sense, until I have a system and some capital built up. Long-term though, it's only a business if it is saleable and can operate without us. Otherwise, it just ends up being self-employment, if you know what I mean.

Congrats again on your success. Keep climbing

Woah hey guys. Didnt realize there were so many new responses!

    @Tracy
Hey, it really just depends on my work load. I offer a lot more than SEO now for my clients. Honestly, SEO is one of the easiest things to outsource.

There are tons of packages online that are under 100 bucks that will get your client exactly where they need to be.

I personally use a service from a guy named Devin on one of my forums on Source Wave (site is linked in the sig) He just delivers. I have no affiliation to him either

    @Maz

Hmm. I have never used Easy WP.

Like said earlier, I will usually just do the on page SEO for a client and then outsource the SEO it self!

    Thanks for the responses guys!

HAHAHAHAHA dude I must say this is a very similar style to mine.

I discovered growing up,I enjoyed talking to the ladies and especially my seniors at school who were older than me(actually got me into trouble once LOL)

Lead the ladies and the men will follow.

If there's one book I think teaches about turning up the Charm in a way you can use in IM and infact in life in General its ''The Game'' by Styles.

But more to the point charm character personality aura swag all these things are percieved over the phone and in person and whenever I have had meetings I must say these attributes do also go in your favour.

I know IM is a lot of technical and knowing your SEO but thats the relationship with you google and your laptop.

The relationship between you and the business owner/client requires just being a nice friendly polite charming fun guy/girl and all imporrtantly confident in your ability and delivering value.

So lets always remember to have fun with it folks.

Also Becker you know the video on your surge wolf site about google ranking was that a fivver gig or could you show me who made it for you.

Want to do something similar with a bit of a twist.

Ahhh I see ill probably just ask someone on Fivver then to do something like that as I have never used power point sometimes it baffles me at what some of us can do and then what we can't.

I can perform surgery with css and html on my site and yet I have no clue about power point .

Second Question the free SEO analysis video I can't seem to find it dude cos when I click on ''Sales WF Demo Page'', it just shows up with ''You Must Be Logged In To View This Content. If You Are A Member Click Here''

Nice contribution. Thanks. There should be more like this one! Still, you will be forced to do a wso after this, like it or not, and it will be a well deserved hit.

Yep I have read "The Game" as well. Not the biggest fan of Neil Strauss as a person (kind of a snake), but the guy is marketing genius. Anyone who can get a person pay 100,000 for a weekend of dating coaching is an ice cold marketer in my book!

    Becker,

Just wondering if you are still relying on blog blue print still? since the blog networks are getting hammered.

Are you worried all of your ranked properties and clients may get penalized soon? I remember you relied heavily on the blog blueprint.

How well are you doing right now? Can you give us an update on your success?

I'm personally about to venture into marketing my services in person, business to business. I JUST finished my business directory website and I'm going to offer businesses an opportunity to list on my site. My directory features updated business information and 5 images listed and optimized by me. I'm charging $250 per month, which is less than half what local newspapers charge for 3 black and white lines of text in their paper directory.

This was the first time I saw your thread and its really inspiring, but seeing an update of what you're doing right now would be great!

When searching for keywords in my area I see a ton that are in the sweet spot of 300-1000 searches a month. However they are all competitive, will I still be able to get them on the first page?

Hey guys. Just a quick update

At the moment my current focus is on my new link outsourcing service(currently sold out) Source Autopilot. If you want to check it out , I put a link at the bottom of this post.

I also sold my local offline business and have moved into corporate consulting. I currently do work for a national home security company, a lighting company, and a law firm.

Currently bringing in around 25k a month with that and offline corporate consulting.

Just checking in. Things have picked up quite a bit since I made the initial post on here.

If you are interested in outsourcing your offline SEO, you can check out some of the results my clients get from my service.

It has a pretty big waiting list though. Good luck

I want to thank you for this very informative thread. Not only to you but all these people posting questions, comments and advice. I haven't been in the Warrior Forum for years but I found I have to get back and this is exactly why. You can't get this type of dialog with companies you work for selling their products.

Again, thank you all of you for the thread.

Ha yeah I think it is a pretty awesome as well.

Great post and a bulletproof money making method! SEO, Social Networking, Site-redesigns - all of it is very profitable. Most people that fail at this are people who don't try hard enough Yes, picking up a phone or going to meet a client is scary for most but it has to be done!
