Has anybody seen/used Nlocation for mobile?

A month or two ago I found out a restaurant in my area is using Nlocation.com for their mobile campaigns. When I checked it out then, it was in beta. I looked at it again today, and looks like it's full production now.

It seems to be positioning itself as a "do-it-yourself" mobile marketing platform for businesses with texting, email and mobile sites, and I have to say it's pretty impressive, especially for the price.

I was about to sign up for one of the major white label mobile companies, but now I'm having doubts. If more places find out about Nlocation, I might not be able to sell a mobile marketing package!

Would love to hear others' opinions about it...

First, I would not sign up for a white label marketing solution - for lots of reasons but primarily
    - difficulties to sync with standard site
    - lack of control
    - cost
Why not build your own mobile sites on your own/clients hosting?

Don't worry about the competion - this market is huge - and even if it wasn't - the market penetration of any competitor is hardly going to effect you
play your own game - and play for a win-win - give your clients good value for money and you will always have plenty of them!

I agree with Danny about not worrying about the competition. That is the quickest way to shut down a business idea and not move forward.

I hadn't previously heard of NLocation, but I just checked out their website and found it interesting that they don't list any prices beyond the "Starting at $19.95"

My guess is the $19.95 plan consists of 200 texts a month and their pricing goes up from there. I don't know for sure, but that is what similar priced plans cost with other providers.

One thing I noticed and I'm not entirely sure, but the mobile websites for NLocation look almost identical to Avid Mobile's white label program, which makes me wonder if NLocation is using a white label provider themselves. Because there are so many white label programs out there (that also let you sign up as a white label reseller) it is hard to tell who the actual provider is. Just something to think about...

      Hello,

I am behind Nlocation. I was surprised to see us mentioned anywhere on the Internet as we are "open", but have done zero marketing ourselves. We have a few locations that are finishing up testing and once that's done we will make a bigger push.

firefly53, you must be in the Hattiesburg area. Feel free to contact me for anything. It's nice to find technologically aware people in the burg.

We did develop the software that runs Nlocation ourselves. We have a free version of Nlocation, without the text messaging, if anyone wants to check it out. Right now it's mostly designed for restaurants as you'll see.

Shortly we'll have a native app that will incorporate push messaging along with, or in place of, text messaging.

Going forward, the market for mobile will be huge. We are just trying to put our own special twist on things and hopefully get our tiny slice of the pie too.
