Are lines like "Call Now!" spammy?

I am building a flyer and I am very pleased with it. I've narrowed it down a lot and finally come up with a design that I think will be effective.

But towards the bottom with the contact information I was going to put:

"Let us help! Call today!"

Will this come off as unprofessional to my prospect clients? (Doctor offices.)

    DEFINITELY NOT.

    Regardless of what anyone might say... I will tell you unequivocally that this is not spammy. Will it be "spammy" a year from now? I don't know, but right now... no.

    People don't understand how important "power phrases" are.

    You would be surprised at how many people will see and read those words and then take action because they were TOLD to take action.

    Too many people have "mamby pamby" calls to action on their sites because they think people will get all offended if they ask people to do something.

    Guess what? In most cases... over 97% of your traffic will leave and never come back? You only have ONE chance to get them to do something.

    SELL!

    Change the "Call Today" to "Call Now" and your conversions will probably increase.

    Now... as you can see... I am very opinionated in this... HOWEVER...

    Don't take my word for it. Each niche is different.

    TEST.

    Set up a test and see which version pulls in the most conversions. Let your clients vote with their wallets.

  • You might try asking this in the Copywriting section. Personally, I think a command is good, but put your phone number right in there and a call to action: "Let us help--Call (123) 456-7890 now to get your FREE report on Dingleberry Reduction in 2012!"

    How is your **audience** feeling about your flier? That's more important than what you may think of it. Maybe scan it and post it somewhere you can link us to it?

  • Maybe not spammy, but more like "not believable"? As in, so I can't call you tomorrow? Next week, maybe? What's the reason to call you right now? See what I mean?

    What's that say in teeny print? "Free trial..." HEY! Isn't that kind of something you'd want to make way more noticeable?

      And the free trial thing... I don't know why it's there, haha. I won't be offering free trials to Doctors.
    • I respectfully disagree. The "Call Now" is needed, it is a perfect ending to the information. Without "Call Now" you've just told them some GREAT information, a service that they WANT to implement - but you DIDN'T instruct them on what to do!

      @OP: Mate, that is a great piece of work. I like it a lot. If I was a doctor, I would at least be giving you a call.

  • Have you talked to dentists about how much they make per customer and how many misses appointments they have? Those numbers sound good but if the guy who reads it thinks those are BS you killed the whole ad.

    And where did the 53% increase number come from? I expected a star to point to some study. Even if you did it with other clients. I'd put a star and have a web address below that goes into more details. Otherwise the 53% is BS to me and may in fact be illegal to the FTC. But I don't know those rules that well.

      Furthermore; that's just a number. This whole damn thing isn't complete. And no, it's not illegal in any way if I wanted to keep it at 53%. No one knows what results I've seen. I'm not promising 53%, am I?
  • "by up to 53%." Which means that I could have given a doctor's office a one day free trial and instead of having 4 missed appointments that day, they only had two. Chill, though. This is my endeavor and even if I decide to leave it at 53%... That's my business and problem.
  • LOL you are not but numbers like that can get you in trouble. Both from the FTC types and from customers who think they are being BS'd

    If you use numbers they gotta ring true and better yet be true.
  • Try toning down your voice by minimizing the use of exclamation points. There's nothing wrong asking the reader to take action (Call now or Ask us today) but we need to deliver it in a professional manner.
