I am building some sites for a couple local businesses w/ Wordpress using the flexibility theme. Is there any way to make them so that the pages don't show where you can click to "leave a comment". This shows up on the right top side of the page in small print. I don't want them to look or seem like a blog but don't know how to get rid of this. Any help appreciated.

I use plugins to accomplish this like the one below:

WordPress › Disable Comments « WordPress Plugins

The trick with disabling comments without using a plugin is that the default text becomes "comments for this entry have been closed" or something like that. The plugin completely disables everything comment-related leaving you with a nice clean page.

The drawback here is that if you upgrade your theme or switch themes the problem will come back. Better IMO to use a plugin.

Yeah depending on your theme this will require you to tweak the theme files. Its easy when you know how of course. If your truly stuck, head on over to odesk, elance, or fiverr.com and pay somebody to do it for you - or cash in a favour with a friend who knows how...;-)

I definitely agree that learning how to edit the page.php is the way to go - basic php edits can make a world of difference if you're going to be the main support of clients online.

I think you have to reconfigure your dashboard, just go to Setting>Reading and check box that tell "Allow comments" and hit save.
