Is It Still Possible To Close Web Design/Seo Sales Over The Phone?

I've been doing it locally and have had a little success but i've cleaned my local city out and want to move on.
My first question is can you close webdesign/seo sales over the phone.
2nd question is if so how would i go about doing it.
#close #design or seo #phone #sales #web

    1) Yes, if you have a portfolio you can email/fax/share the link to.
    2) Call, allow phone to ring; using your voice, say words formed into sentences explaining your service.

Seriously though, yeah, anything can be pitched over the phone.

How do you build a rapport with someone when they know your phone #'s area code isint the same as theirs?

My firm deals with vendors from all over the country and we execute contracts in the many thousands of dollars range. I've never met any of my reps face to face. Some of them I have good rapport with and some I don't but I need what they are selling.

I've purchased web design from a company in California(close to 5K) and the list goes on. The phone is the best way to get out of a little town and be able to market anywhere you like.

As far as building rapport it's no different then face to face. Just because you meet face to face is no guarantee that you are going to like each other. My ex-wife's divorce lawyer comes to mind!

Can you honestly say that you've never spoken with anyone on the phone that you didn't feel one way or the other about. No ONE person will be liked by EVERYONE and that's just life. But there are enough people out there that you can work with the one's that like you and that you like.

You may also want to join John Durham's Telemarketing Forum....I have and there are some excellent resources there. I have to start my own telemarketing project very soon. It's been a LONG time since I've done any phone sales, and I'm as nervous as anyone might be about it....but the only advantage I have is that I know from experience that anything can be closed on the phone. It just takes some practice, and the more you practice (on prospects) the more natural you (and me) are going to sound.

Do you have any pointers on how to accept payments with the customer?

Nothing seems to be easier then PayPal and people are comfortable with it.

It really depends on what you're selling as far as the right approach.

I intend to use a brief personalized email, followed with a phone call. If there's a need to go beyond that, the only appointment I would set is for a GOTO meeting to show what I've got and how my prospect fits in the picture.

I always prefer to come with the customer face to face.. this way it's a lot better to convince him into a better deal, and of course let him sign & pay right away if possible

Most of my clients are 2-4 hours away and I never seen them face to face. SEO Can be sold over the phone. Use a smart phone application Square you can do credit card processing through that program through your phone while you close. Or have them pay on paypal, (I hate waiting on checks in the mail ).

Just have a nice portfolio ready to email them while your on the phone or have them search up a keyword and your websites. And CLOSE!!! Get a nice sales script ready or just freestyle and talk to the owners. You will get a lot of NOs that is just part of the game. Once you get that yes and $$ in your bank your morale will boost ten fold and you'll have the confidence to keep pushing through to those cold calls.

I'll never understand how anyone, most especially the people on THIS forum, could doubt the possibility of selling on the phone. Every day, countless times, hundreds of thousands of purchases of EVERY type of product are sold ONLINE....with absolutely no human interaction!

How an earth could you imply that adding a skilled, or even semi-skilled salesperson in that equation would lessen the likely outcome of a sale.

I've sold more than one $24K per year contracts over email only. One of them moved up to a $45K per year contract although I see him in person now.

I've changed my business structure to be about smaller purchases with more customers and am using the phone now much more. Which is good because it's much more powerful.

Yes, it's possible to close over email (although it is tough) and it is possible to close over the phone. The question is --- is it possible for YOU to close over the phone (meant for anybody reading this). I maintain that it is but it will take some time/practice if you don't have any selling skills yet.

  • When dealing with offline clients no matter where they are at..make sure you emulate your own skills on your site, rankings, etc. Building trust doesn't have to be difficult as long as you can do what you say you can do.

For example, I spoke with an attorney in NYC (I'm in Austin Tx) all I had to do was show him my website by having him search for a widely popular keyword which my company ranks #2 and a video is #3 on Google. I didn't have to explain much at all after he saw for himself.

Keep up the good work!!!! Stay focused!! Wish you the best..
