How to find websites using Flash

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how I could use Google to search for websites that use Flash programming in their sites. I ask this as I figure that normal desktop websites that use a lot of Flash programming would be the prime target to sell the owner on why he/she needs an optimised website (as the elements with Flash won't show up on any Apple products), and more importantly, why *I* can give it to them!

I know there is probably a way using the right search modifier(s), but would anyone happen to know what it is?

regards,

Doug

    Doug,

This is definitely something we have been having a lot of success with lately.

You can search Google for phrases like:

"You need to upgrade your Flash Player" restaurant new york

"get adobe flash player" restaurant new york

        Interesting suggestion.

I'll try that one in my area to see what I can get. . .

        Thanks!

I have used these type of "operators" such as ["You need to upgrade your Flash Player" restaurant new york] but they produce a very limited search result and in almost every case there will be very few "restaurants" or whatever and suddenly the results are for all kinds of places and most of them not usable for us so not sure that method works all that well.

A better solution might be through using a very sophisticated software system called Power Leads Pro. You can Google it to get the url, but on the results page it will give you all the sites that are flash enabled and they will all be relevant to your search query so much better. It's not cheap but very well worth it IMO.

Another search modifier that would be interesting to find out is how to find local businesses with mobile websites that's not using browser redirect to the mobile website from their main site ...

I run a database that monitors 150 million websites and 1 million small business websites. I revisit them all every 2 days and have found that a lot of businesses are updating. I think there is still plenty of fish to go around though. How can I share this database? Some of the things I check for:

    Mobile redirect
Viewport meta tag (indicates responsive but is not 100% accurate)
    Sites running wordpress
    Sites running Joomla
Sites running on windows or linux/apache
Sites using a website builder such as wix
Sites using flash anywhere on their homepage
Emails, social links, odd plugins that the user has to download.
    And about 30 others.
