Yellow Pages (Canada) - Blocking access... anyone noticed this?
I thought this was interesting. I have been looking for some specific niche leads in a specific area of Canada, (not for seo) - but obviously I went to the Yellow pages for some of them.
Then I did some searches under Google.ca, came across some place pages, and found that many have their business name and a phone number.... a few list their websites ... but one thing consistent with MANY:
They have a standard UNIFORM phone number that the Yellow pages has screened, so its NOT a direct phone call to the company!
No, I haven't tried calling to see what happens frankly because initially I'm contacting for my strategy via email - but I just wondered if anyone else noticed this?
On one of the person's "websites", it actually has in the lower right corner the Yellowpages.ca info.
Definitely trying to cut off any competition lol.

PS - this is obviously yellow pages online, not the actual physical book that "probably" has the correct phone number, except I can't find them because I'm not local to the area at this moment.
