Interesting developments--more and more local clients are marketing online:

"A new report from Borrell Associates predicts that online could become the primary destination for local advertising dollars by 2013, while mobile advertising will steadily increase its share of local ad dollars, reaching 88% by 2016."

    I took a look but I don't think I agree. I don't see mobile advertising making up 88%. Who knows though... that is 5 years from now. Does anyone remember what was going on 5 years ago?

    I guess it depends on the conversions though. I personally don't do much mobile advertising to really know how well it converts.

    I know any advertising is good... but has anyone here really done a hefty amount of mobile ads? Would like to hear some insight.

    I think one big problem that will need to be addressed to get 88% of the market is all the accidental clicks that mobile causes now with the ad designs and placement. Not sure how you get around that as the screens can only go so big and I don't see people's fingers getting smaller in time for 2016 through evolution. :-)

    88% huh? Seems a bit high to me, but hey, who knows! I do much of my work on my phone and tablet these days, and that whole market continues to grow significantly!

    I must say, it is a possibility. My 76 year old grandpa just got an iphone.... Smart phones are in, and not going anywhere!

    Like I said though, I'm not sure how well the mobile ads will convert. Would be nice to have someone come in that has tested it thoroughly enough to shed some light!
