Google Places, I think I'm ready to do this

So let me get this straight, I read some of the Google Places Guides and I'm ready to start doing some work. Is this what I will be needing to do:

1. Claim Places Page
2. Optimize Places Page to 100% with pictures, content, videos
3. Build Citations.
4. Write reviews on non Google Places page sites

Is this what I need to do? My client is already ranked top 3 organically and wants to be added to google places. Anything else I need to know?

    Each step you listed, esp #2 has a whole world of details, tips, tricks, short cuts you need to know.

    And there are lots of subtle Google rules that if you don't know about and violate you can get your client banned.

    Also don't do #4. It's unethical AND illegal and you can get in trouble.

    Baconman will you be doing all of this yourself, or willl your client have a hand in the marketing? Everything sounds good except #4 like Catalyst said. You could probably run an email campaign or an in-house campaign where your client's customers leave real reviews about them.

    Am I missing anything? I noticed my client as has 117 citations. while some of the blended places listing have less than 50.

    I am ranked above google places when i search city keyword, but how do i get in google places when i just search for the keyword? Am I missing something?
