Anyone using Maps Marketing Blueprint by David Sprague?

Got an email today to review this program, it looks great, at first I thought it was maps magic by Michael, but it's not.

Wish there was a WSO here for it! it's 197 bucks. hmm. also wonder what it's worth to a local business to do this work for them ( what's reasonable to try to charge?)

Thanks, Dave

There is one called Google Places Takeover. I can't say I know anything about it other than what the sales letter says. It's $47.

There is a real need for this info for local businesses. A lot of business folks are lost with Google Places and getting their pages right is important. I think it's better to sell it as getting them calls and not confuse the issue by talking about "Universal Search" and other stuff offline owners don't care about.

I'm sure either program would pay for itself soon, if you apply them.

There is no magic pill or WSO that is going to make you a expert at Google Places. You need to learn all aspects of Internet Marketing if you are serious about marketing to businesses. SEO, Social Media, PPC, Media Buys, Blogging, Video Marketing to name a few.
Then you will be able to lock down the bigger and long term clients.

Treat yourself as your customer, if you can't perform and execute the work for yourself first...then how can you ever service a client?

I have to agree with James here. There's a lot of FREE content on how to get in the 7-box without forking out $197. There are also a LOT of new Google Places offerings out there, and that's when you should start worrying about methods. Once the big "Goog" out there sees everyone doing the same thing, then they've got to change how they stack-rank listings (providing things are equal among submissions).

Let's say for instance, you subscribe to the "centroid" theory. Meaning that being close to where Google considers the central part of the City you're looking to rank for. If you have seven plumbers the same distance from the centroid, and all their listings are built the same, same on-page SEO is done, same citation and review sources, and the backlinking strategy is the same, then Google would have to change how they rank, right? They all can't have the A spot. I know that is an extreme example, but once everyone is doing something to 'game the system', they change it...always! Look at their manual reviews that they're doing on listings, etc.

The only thing of value that I saw was the Lead Generation Software, but that's only free for 60 days and then you'll get charged $30 or so per month (if I remember the webcast well enough ).

If you're absolutely brand-spanking new to this, then maybe a course is for you. Just so you know, I get my clients first page and A-listings all the time, and I learned how to do it by researching (free) methods that are working, and by modifying things that work and not telling the world about those modifications.

I hope your quest brings you many blessings.

The bottom of this is signed very interestingly....

....as in "don't quit my day job" or something close to that. For those of you who haven't had the chance yet to see the inside of just ONE of David Sprague's products or sit in as even a guest on just ONE of his mastermind sessions, I'll fill you in. The information, bonus material, tools, automated software, training and extra efforts this man puts forth are well worth 10 times whatever he's asking for!

However, you guys are more than welcome to go on doubting and hating. I think there was one person here whom even pointed out that you need to LEARN how to provide the service if you truly want to understand what's going on. This is true to a great extent, though David also teaches people how to get around that with outsourcing, which also includes many top notch hand chosen workers that could start TOMORROW if you were out there making sales today. Don't take my word for it though guys. Please go on hating and doubting and while you're doing that I'll be using what I've purchased in the past from him already, buying MORE GREAT STUFF and making more sales.

Hands down, everything I've seen that comes from this guy (David Sprague) drips gold nuggets!

David Sprague has let me down. I have purchased one of his products for a set fee and was happy with it and then purchased a second product which I also thought was for a set fee however it was actually for a recurring $99 charge. I have tried to cancel this via email however I have been sent emails stating that I have to book a phone appointment to cancel the subscription and I need to give 14 days notice to stop it and surprise but there are no phone appointments available this month or next month and you cannot make a phone appointment for the third month. These supposed phone appointments are also only available Mon to Friday 9 to 5 eastern standard time and since I am from Australia I would have to stay up until the middle to the night to phone -if there were actually any appointments in existence. All I can say is How desperate must a marketer be to try to rip of clients like this and funny that he is quite happy to let you pay online but not to let you cancel by the same method.
STAY AWAY from his subscription products.

I am sorry but either you have misunderstood or this is complete bull.

You can cancel any product on their helpdesk and it is done.

I am not aware of ANY of his products being a one off payment, they are all subscription, some monthly, some yearly and a few for just 4 months.

What you MAY be mistaking is their attempt to keep you on board by offering you a free period and so they try to book a call with you to find out why you want to leave.

The only product that has a fixed period is his mastermind which is a 4 month commitent and that is made incredibly clear a so many stages it is inconceivable that you were not aware.

Unlike a lot of other Marketers he is directly contactable by email and he replies.

All of his subscriptions are hosted on infusionsoft, if you log into your product portal and edit your account details you get taken to the Infusionsoft settings and can cancel from there. I know because I nearly did it by accident once.

I have been a customer of his for years, I know at least 300 other customers of his who have become friends, a few have left and had no problem, they just cancelled. One told me that it was not for him and was given 3 months free access. Another was in desperate times but foolishly joined the $400 a month mastermind and then asked for time to pay, he paid one month out of the four. The only reason he failed is because he was addicted to WSO's and did not follow the programme, I tried to help him but he was always playing piggy in the middle with every WSO that came out.

You won't see David on here because most people on here are too busy chasing dreams rather than sticking to one thing, any thing they bought, following it through and doing the day to day activity it takes to build a business.

And that's why most of the info-sellers usually visit a different section of this forum called "warrior special offers"... to sell their "goods". And when in need, they also sell their "goods" to the lists of other info-sellers, who built their lists by selling their "goods" in the section called "warrior special offers".

Some of the most known "info-seller gurus" out there exist only because of this forum. I love when they complain about (or laugh at) all of those "dream chasers" from WF...Instead, they should drop to their knees and thank the God for giving Alan Says (former owner of WF) enough strength to keep this forum alive and giving them (info-sellers) opportunity to make something of themselves :-)

PS. Nothing personal against you or your post, but just a general comment... :-)

I've had the program for quite a while. It is by far the best "Maps" related course that I've seen. The best thing is it is always being updated with new training webinars. If you need to learn maps marketing, purchase that program. It's honestly the best $$$ I've spent as a local marketer.

Is this still a good product to buy in 2013...considering all the changes Google has made to local listings in the last year? Are there any other products out there which are offering similar kind of training.

I am also on the list of Phil Frost of Main street ROI who seems to have a similar product and its even a bit cheaper than David's Sprague's

I do need to update my knowledge on whats happening in the local SEO so am looking to buy a product which will do a very good job on the subject...any advise appreciated.

I have been using most of Davids products for a few months now and I didn't really see any posts on this thread that were results based so let me add my two cents on a recent experience.

I was explaining a little bit about some of the cool features of mmb to a friend recently. The next day he called and told me that he had mentioned what I do to his brother who is the manager at a local company in my area. So I called them up, kept the call pretty brief and didn't explain to much and just set an appointment to meet.

Using some of the tools from mmb I was able to print a report showing what directory sites they were or were not listed on. It also compiled a list of keywords relating to their products/services and showed what actual company's in town (their competition) were showing up for those search terms (guess what, they didn't rank to well for most of them but their competition did).

I was also able to run another analysis that showed how they compared to the other similar companies in town on the google search and what they would need to do to outrank them.

So after explaining to them that they weren't ranking and why--with data to back up what I was saying, I sold them on an initial project of a website redesign and optimization for $1,395.

Now fast forward about two weeks. I have gotten the site redesigned and have been doing all the proper optimization steps. They now rank at or near the top of both the organic and local search results for several keywords. I checked in with them a couple days ago and they had even received more than half a dozen inquiries from the site from other companies wanting to hire their services. They couldn't be happier and all this has happened without the site being anywhere close to completion. So far it is only optimized for about 3 of the 8 or so keywords they need to go after.

This company did have a claimed google places page as well but it was not properly optimized either. So I made a few tweaks to it based largely on things I have learned from mmb which helped the ranking as well.

Now granted I have been doing websites and optimization for quite some time but the tactics I used to rank this site are really not too far off from what David shows in his training. There really is no big secret to all this you just have to know the process and follow the steps. David's tools can just help you get there that much faster. In fact, the analyzer can even compare your clients google page to its competition and tell you exactly what things you need to do to outrank the competition (ex, need more citations, better website optimization, complete google places page, more reviews, etc..)

All in all for the price what you will learn is going to make you money. It gives you tools to make selling and fulfillment easier. But most of all, based on my experience, it actually does work and you will see the results you are looking for.

    Disappointing.
I would avoid purchasing it unless you know next to nothing about Google & local marketing. If thats the case the info is valuable. However ,the tools that look so promising are clunky and unreliable.
The Support staff are rude, pretty useless and don;t address the issues.

David Sprague has & is taking steps to resolve the issues I mentioned. I have no idea what commenters are talking about when they say David's staff is rude. They are wonderful. Support tickets are answered promptly. Mercedes is patient and thorough with all her responses. David also gives away more product and training than anyone I have seen. Now some people may have had a few problems a couple of weeks ago because we (David's clients/students) crashed his server during a training session when he launched a new product. I was a part of that training and witnessed the crash first hand. He took him about a week to get back up and running (replacing servers, adding storage space, transferring data), but after a 90 hour work week everything is operating smoothly now.

For those looking to buy MMB at $197, I found that price as a specials inside someone else's training/promotion site. David was giving that price as a favor. If you can't find it at $197, it's still worth it at $297 and more.

        Good luck to you all!

I have bought and used the Maps Marketing Blueprint and others from David Sprague & I believe it is the best money I've spent on learning how to effectively do offline marketing! The courses are in video format and very easy step by step to follow.

I have bought a couple of other products from him as well and everything has been top notched. Sure it is not some $9 WSO, but you get what you pay for in some instances.

I have had a couple of questions in the past, and have always received good response. I know he had an issue with his servers for a couple of weeks and was having some customer service issues then, but I guess I was lucky enough to not need to have a question answered then.

If you are learning how to do offline marketing, then this is a good course IMO. If you can already get clients to top position, then maybe you don't need it. But I feel Dave is very cutting edge with his trainings as he always seems to be updating.

PS: I paid $297 for it.

      Hi Richard;
I have had this system for some time now, along with several other products from David Sprague. By far I have found them to have the very best customer support and products in the industry. I do know they had a brutal server crash a few weeks ago, essentially due to a very successful product launch. It was challenging for about 7-10 days there, but in his true style and fashion David Sprague was very open and honest about the problem with us. Not only did he get his servers back online as quick as humanly possible, but he upgraded his entire customer support servers to make sure this would not happen again. I sincerely hope, for your sake, you give him another try because his content and this software is by far the very best the industry has to offer.

Hey Richard I could not disagree more!! I have been a David Sprague client for more than a year. I have used the support system and even chatted directly with David. He and his staff have always been very helpful and courteous.

That being said I have seen both good and bad but David is always looking to improve. Minus the recent server issues I have been able to use his products to build a fantastic business. Right now is a great time to be with him. (fresh off a problem he has a bigger and better server plus the hind sight to avoid the issue in the future) I also always get good info from his very clear training. I believe this guy really wants me to succeed.

The value for his products is tremendous. Feel free to PM me anytime to talk more about it. But IMO I say if you are in to Local SEO and his new idea Reputation Marketing, yes I said marketing then I would say jump in Feet first.

I bought maps marketing blue print and it is well worth the price. I you are really serious about your local marketing success then this is the best program to get. David Sprague does all the training and customer support is very good and timely. There was a period of about a week recently when their server crashed due to a lot of people rushing to purchase an additional new product. During that week period customer support was understandably chaotic which, of course, is uncharacteristic of their otherwise reliable service. My recommendation is to give it another try because its worth it.

I purchased Maps Marketing Blueprint a few months ago and have found it to be wonderful training, both the product itself and the ongoing life trainings that David does for us on a regular basis.

I have had occasion to use his support system and it has worked fine for me. I have always had my questions answered or been directed where I should look inside the product to find the answer myself (which I actually appreciate more anyway - lol)

I have also purchased David's newest product Reputation Marketing Blueprint because I received such wonderful value and support from his Maps program. Just the info you learn for free on his sales webinars sold me!!!

I do think he had a server crash when everyone started buying his Reputation program which kept us from getting access for a few days back at the beginning of July. They have fixed that and now the support is even better than it was before.

    Just sayin....

Sounds like sour grapes to me, you can't blame him (David) for your failure to take action.

David provides all the tools you need, I got through all his training in a day and the recorded webinars in a few more. You had 60 days!

His tools are state of the art and yes they are cloud based but you can export the data if you are that paranoid.

I am willing to bet you do not actually have a client because if you did you would save so much time using his platform that you would not be bitching.

Even then he only charges $37 for maps tools and all you have to do is drive traffic or call customers.

You seem to find reasons NOT to do things, (school), for goodness sake, this is a business not a hobby, put in 2 hours a day of prospecting and you will get results.

If you are so busy, start recording what you do with your time, if it is not giving you money, DON'T DO IT.

Get up a 6am, plan your day, create prime time windows for prospecting, have some breaks, do some exercise, do any training outside hours.

        Reading email, does not pay
Following Aff links, does not pay
Buying yet another WSO, does not pay
Talking on Facebook, does not pay
Talking on Twitter, does not pay
Watching training videos, does not pay

        Cold Calling, Pays
        Networking, Pays
        Getting Referrals, pays
        Emailing, Pays
        Talking to prospects, pays

Now get out there and start selling!

Richard and others who consider the next tool for their online marketing business:

I am a very happy customer of David Sprague's Maps Marketing, Local Genius, Analyzer and Magic Submitter products.

If you are starting a new business, and don't want to go the franchise route, but instead want to build a business that helps other businesses with their marketing and their online presence, how much should you pay?

What if instead of a $50K franchise fee, you paid for the experience of an online coach and mentor who could give you the expertise of a highly successful agency? You don't have to wait years, and get your own experience, he's done that for you.

What if you could also get dozens of videos that teach you from basic to advanced exactly what you need to do to get clients and get them ranked in google successfully, honestly, and fast? Wouldn't that be great to know what to do and how to do it and how to fix it when things go wrong and who to call if you need more answers?

What if this coach/mentor followed up the original training with weekly webinars and up-to-date industry info and stayed on the line to answer specific questions? What if Google changed everything, Penguins, Plus and more. What if you didn't have to worry about keeping up with all the industry news, all the changes, all the fixes, and more. Wouldn't that be great?

What about tools and softwares that your business would need so you don't have to train and rely on outsourcers to get you thousands of backlinks and citations? All legit and trackable, easy peasy. Better still, what if you had access to the tool's developer for updates, fixes and more. And here was your coach/mentor checking to be sure your tools were updated with all the right updates. Wouldn't that be great?

Wait, now that Google's changes make five star reviews more critical than ever...what if your coach/mentor developed a new tool that would enable clients to easily get more reviews, and to ELIMINATE ANY NEGATIVE reviews?

All this so that you could have a successful online business that would make you wildly successful, and keep you constantly up to date with anything new.

You wouldn't need to buy any more shiny new warrior offers or spend hours on other people's webinars or get emails from dozens or hundreds of other marketers looking for your paypal address.
If you already had a proven coach/mentor, who helped you build an incredibly successful business, you wouldn't need more WSO's, would you?

Would a bad week with a server crash, or a cranky support incident cause you to complain online about your coach's customer service? Their support staff has always given me superior and fast customer service.

If you had all of David's products as well as private mastermind, and it cost you less than $200 per month for everything, how many clients would you need to stay profitable? If you can't find one client willing to pay you at least twice that, even if you were a beginner, then perhaps you shouldn't be looking for an online business at all.

I know that I am very lucky to have found this magic solution, and am astounded that more people haven't taken advantage of David's solutions. I think it's an amazing way to get to a successful online business that helps local businesses as well as helping you to leave the 9-5 world or automate your current online business. Ever grateful to David and his team and his products.

Since I have have purchased my fair share of WSO's as well as products in the thousands of dollars range, I'd like to respond to this thread.

I purchased Maps Marketing Blueprint when it was first released. While you can find Google Maps related information at low or no cost, there is usually a reason that products are priced higher since they usually provide a corresponding increased value, in this case, the value was more than fair.

David Sprague not only created a great product, but also tools that can be used to generate leads and land new business. In addition, he conducts FREE training on an ongoing basis and provides great marketing insight while doing his training.

As you can tell, I'm a satisfied customer and have always found everyone in his organization friendly and accommodating. I give David and his products a 5 star rating for value and over delivery!

I have Map Marketing Blueprint and it is excellent at what ever price one can pick it up for if you want to learn how to take local businesses to the first page of local search. David Sprague includes every aspect of the Google Places dashboard, leaving no stone unturned. I live in Los Angeles, and here no one should be charging the smallest businesses less than $1500 monthly (it is paid for with your first small client). Because once you understand the what and how as MMB teaches you, you become a godsend for these business owners. You make their phone ring, increase market share and turn many companies profitable. Local business owners are desperate for people that actually know what they are doing, not the jerks charging them "$400 buck to get to the top of google" and never deliver on the expectation. I recommend this program if you want to really help people and make great money doing it.

I have been in Maps Marketing Blueprint for quite a while and its a great program. I think it's the best program of its type and certainly at this price point - great value for money.

David is an excellent communicator, he also has a great heart and empathy with others. He is also a good teacher particularly in sales and marketing which is where a lot of independent consultants are weak and need help.

I have not had much reason to use the support service but when I did it was fine.

I do know they ran into a major issue 2 to 3 weeks ago when a terrific launch blew their servers and overloaded their support for a few days. We are all human and I feel sure David will address this fully and try to make sure it does not happen again.

IMHO you would be doing yourself a serious disservice if you don't get this.

    Good luck with your business.

Be aware that they autobill your card. I called them, left a voicemail for cancellation and no response. A few weeks later, I called the number again and it's disconnected. I emailed them at least 4x to cancel the subscription and this was part of the autoresponder:
For cancellations, PLEASE NOTE: If you do not process the cancellation yourself by completing the process and submitting the cancellation form you will NOT be removed from the billing cycle and we do not offer refunds.

It brings you to a link which clearly does not have a cancel my membership button - instead it offers you to bump your subscription at a lower monthly fee. $27 for 3 months is where this service should be.

I called my cc to not accept any charges from their company.

You need to find the needle in the haystack just so you can unsubscribe. Very tedious, very spammy. You've been warned.

There's a lot of upselling in his products for his other services and software. From what I saw, it's a bit outdated but I'm not sure if there have been updates. The material itself is nothing special and probably not worth the price since it's all available online. However, I think he does a good job of explaining benefits and helping you sell and convince people they need you for their business.

Hey Its David Sprague... never on this forum... so first Thank you everyone all for the kind words about how hard I and my team works to help people succeed in this difficult and ever changing world of online marketing.

First let me say this I DON'T create products to sell. We have an incredibly successful local marking business and we allow others to use the same software, same databases and systems WE USE FOR OUR OWN BUSINESS for a few bucks a month.

I supported maps marketing blueprint for 3 years with customers support, upgraded it 3x to a 3.0 and supported it with FREE software for 3 years (Maps marketing analyzer) and never asked for a dime more from any customer. As of 6 months ago we don't do maps anymore in our own business so we don't support it.

To address savesulli .... First.. I'm sorry that you had trouble with support.
Send me your Support ticket ID to realstrategic[@]gmail.com and I'll personally get it back to you and get it resolved

2nd ... savesulli .. if your talking about RepVideos because that's the only thing we have at $99 a month.. let me be honest... the program you bought for $99 isn't even open to the public.
And ONLY you and a few others were allowed in on one webinar.

I have a recording of where I state OVER and OVER again that its $99 a month for $50,000 in production videos. Which is pretty fair deal Not to mention most get their first customers in 3-5 days if they just follow the process.

Next.. we don't refund on that program because we have HARD costs filming models, royalties, server cost for you and everyone we allowed in the program. You can cancel, but no refunds.

But... I'd rather you have the money back to INVEST IN SOMETHING THAT YOU FEEL IS VALUABLE TO YOU. So I'm happy to refund your money

    I hope this helps

Again, if you need help our support is LMG Support | Local Marketing Genius Support we have 5 full time support staff M-F.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. We've had 100's make incredible living in the local markplace ONLY using our companies intellectual property.

We are happy to help you and want to see you succeed

      Hi David
Firstly thank you for responding to my post. The product was REP videos and I was not asking for a refund I was simply trying to cancel the subscription. As outlined below in some of the emails I received from your company I could not cancel the subscription by email. I had to phone between 9-5 New York Time I had to give 14 days notice I had to book an appointment to make this cancellation phone call and there was not any phone appointments available for November or December on your schedule that you provided and the calendar of appointments did not extend into 2015.
This obviously made it extremely hard to stop the subscription and I started trying to cancel as soon as I saw the second charge to my credit card. The whole process really disappointed me as I have enjoyed your information and thought that you were genuinely trying to provide great products.
I appreciate that you have taken the time to respond to my issues on this forum however I did try to address these issues before publically posting. Also please take this as genuine feedback that you don't need to put people through this horrendous cancellation process as I thought the product was good it just was the wrong time for me and I probably would have re-subscribed later on however now obviously credibility is questionable.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.

      Extracts from emails received below

Actually I think it DOES look good.

When you terminate your Internet service what happens?

You are sent to a customer retention deparrtment to see if they can work out a deal to make you stay.

Well Real Strategic do the same thing, they do not want to lose you, they will take your personal circumstances into account and do what they can for you because they are passionate about your success.

If you take a cold hard look at yourself and you are angry with yourself becaause you played piggy in the middle buying product after product not taking action on any one of them then do not take it out on decent suppliers.

It is understandable that you get annoyed because there are many fools on here selling snake oil, but David is not one of them. He even gave a refund when strictly speaking, she was not entitled.

Now if you are afraid to call customers who have a problem you can fix, then you are not going to get anywhere in offline marketing without help and in that situation I would suggest you join David's mastermind. There you will not only learn sales techniques and approaches designed to get you started, you will be among fellow marketers who are GoGivers.

In fact there is so much to do on the mastermind you do not have time to keep chasing the next shiny object.

Whether you go with David or no, the key to success in this market is to do ONE thing, focus on it, track what it working and keep adjusting until you get it right. Learn from the mistakes of others and remember to do enough volume to make your tracking viable.

Unsubscribe from everything or change your email to a different account, getting rid of that "noise" will clear your mind and don't waste your time coming on here, you probably have all you need on your hard disk, just pick ONE thing, follow the instructions and run with it until you make it work, adapt it and make it better, then outsource the activities and rinse & repeat with another product.

Incidentally RS put in a new helpdesk, they repond to my messages within 24 hours but usually a lot let. There are a several of products and so it does depend on the product.
