Dentists turn to marketing after getting brush-off from patients

The West Virginia company charges an average $5,000 to design websites, and $300 to $400 more each month to update the sites and position them on Internet search engines, among other services.

The firm is owned by a husband-and-wife team, Greg and Mary Rahall. He's a computer engineer; she has a master's degree in industrial relations. They got their start in dental marketing more than a decade ago when they created a website for a dentist in their family, who recommended them to others.
From the LA Times.

I think the email marketing and blog presence will help to bring them more patients. They should be doing more, but it's a start.

Face it, if the dentist built up a nice six-figure income for himself using these methods then the cost as quoted is about as cheap as you can get.

$5,000 up front plus $5,000 per year for a steady flow of high-paying customers would be a bargain.

Thanks for sharing. It adds perspective.

I have several dentists as clients and their practices are doing just fine. They had some drop off due the economy but it didn't effect them much. The dentists that have been hit the hardest are the one who specialize in implants, cosmetic, etc. Non esential services.

They really need help but it's really hard to get them as clients. They are constantly hammered from sales people and the competitition is fierce.

I think you just gave me an idea.

The trick is to have them call ME!

          Thanks

One way to have Dentists call YOU....is to get a Domain that appeals to their GREED GLANDS and EGO!

              A Domain like...."TacomasBestDentist.com" (example)

Then...set up a 3 Page site (Home, About Us, Contact, with submit Form)

Or....assuming Dentists in your area already have a website....offer up a 1-page Squeeze Page that has a Form to Capture Leads....with a Super Deal on the page to MOTIVATE patients to fill in the Form.

I'd show you an example of a Dentist in Lincoln, NE who has built his BIG practice on...Offering "FREE Teeth Whitening" but....his site might get bombarded and I'd disrupt his program.

However....just a ego-centered Domain Name...offered to ONE Dentist can...bring in good money every month.

It's good that they're transitioning into a "marketing business" instead of being in the mindset of having a "dental practice".
