I just started offering Facebook Fan Pages and early on the response has been pretty good.I started slow, doing some freebies for friends of friends looking for the word of mouth/referral angle and it has worked a bit.

With that said, to those facebook experts, how can I help the client or potential client get MORE visitors to the FB page so they see tangible results.
My fear is my clients will think "ok, that page looks awesome and I showed all my family, friends, and business associates (which may get me more clients), I got some likes, I put special offers on the fan content page, and I post some statuses every once in a while which drive fans to more deals, etc. - now what?"

In other words how do I drive more people to the page?

Through their poorly optimized website? (which I know I could offer SEO but now I am hitting them with a potential huge upsell - which is nice for me BUT now they will expect even more results)

Second sort of follow up question...any good WSO's on getting local businesses optimized on google places. Or any tips?

FB fanpages...have your client on there 1 hour a week at the same time...answering questions about their field. Whenever a fan comments, all of their friends should see that, spreading the word and expertise. Or do the FB advertising game...

Google places...try searching for Places Scout in WSO and see if that's what you're looking for.

      kaniganj,

Places Scout definitely looks like it could help but here is my thing. I come from old school SEO. I did it for years for clients and didn't change with the times - mobile sites, FB pages, offline marketing, even google places etc...I had to give up the SEO, it was a rat race and although this may sound silly, even if my clients were ranking better and better for whatever they decided they needed, it was just not fun for me and in the end my clients needed/need more than page 1 google in today's world.

I am looking for some basic pdf/video WSO or freebie (whatever is out there) that breaks down ranking for google places. The best methods, tips, tricks, strategies...

Places scout is a definite and I can see already how powerful that is. Now I need to teach myself the nuances of google places by just doing it for my clients...trial by fire.

      Any suggestions?

Maybe create some table tents and flyers to post in the business promoting the coupons and special offers available only to fb fans.

Whats your strategy for earning money with the facebook fan page? You can include a "like" box on every page of your blog and website - and feature it prominently. The same thing you would market anything else online, do that for the facebook fan page.
