Thanks to people like John Durham, IamNameless and others here in the offline section of WF and their great advice I am getting really busy.

I have taught myself Wordpress basics and can make a decent site for my clients. my strength is the SEO and lead generation and that is my focused selling point. The websites are taking me longer than I would like and as I am not a wordpress expert I feel I could give my clients better websites if I outsource the web design.

Anyone here use any outsourcers they can recommend please could you PM the details. I currently charge $450 for the website design so I am hoping to find a great Wordpress designer for enough to still make a profit..

Thanks in advance

Cathy

  • For the price you are willing to pay you will most likely have to go offshore. My question is legitamte, If you sell the sites for $450 then why do you only pay the designer $150?

If you go offshore I am sure you can get that for less, if you want a mainlander it will cost you more than the $150.

    • My price of $450 actually also includes 3 years of hosting so I want to keep my profits up. But I do not mind paying more If I must I usually get at least half of my clients to take an upsell of lead generation, SEO, site updates or a combination of all three.

My question I guess is are all off liners doing all the web design themselves? And if you are outsourcing who are you using and what are you paying.

PS going off shore is no big deal to me as an African I am as pretty much off shore as they come. LOL. I just want quality work
  • I went looking through the Warrior For Hire forum and talked to three web builders. One said no, the other two were receptive to it. Depending on how large a site they want, you can get it done for the price you are looking for. But I am guessing that many will want more than a basic site, so you may have to adjust your price. But if they want extra, then that would be well justified.

  • Oh wow... $450, AND they get 3 years of hosting? Pretty good deal. I throw in free hosting for those $1,000 and up, but charge after the first year.
  • Have you been to a site called rent-acoder.com? I think this may be up your alley.

    • A thing you should keep in mind that some of this people you outsource to will do half your project and disappear so you have to REALLY trust them and know that they'll keep delivering when you need them to.

Nothing worse then telling your client it should take 1 week to finish and having it take much longer because the person you outsourced to disappeared.
  • The expense is not in the creation of the website (I charge as low as $199) it is in the time consuming interaction with the client (getting materials, verify content, setting up analytics accounts etc.) And the only reason I charge $199 is because I have a huge upsell over time that clients rarely turn down.

Trying to say this in a round about way but it would be hard to find someone for so cheap but possible. What would sweeten the deal is if YOU dealt with all client interactions including changes, approvals, etc.
