Best way to help a client with Google Adwords?

I have an old client that has come back around and requested a quote for me to work on his Google Adwords. I had tried to do this for a client once before and found it be a real headache. I don't like doing the adwords, but I don't want to turn away this client. Should I outsource this? If so, where might you suggest?

If you do it yourself, dDo you do it with your own adwords account and access, or in the clients account?

  • Ideally with the clients account. If you manage multiple accounts it is best to get an MCC and just send an invite to them and give you access. That is the way to go! That way they input their billing info, card number and all that junk into their own account.
  • Adwords is a specialty with many intricacies... I personally dread working on something I do not have command of and I understand your dilemma.. you send the customer away, they may find someone else that handles everything for them and you may lose that customer.

    Perry Marshall has a great course at a reasonable price, if you decide to expand your knowledge on it his course may be of value. He is truly a master in the art of Adwords.. and it is an art.
  • I really don't want to have learn something as big and involved as Google Adwords when I'm doing so many things as well. I think I would like to outsource this. But what is the best way to do this? Is there a definite wrong way?!

    • Yes.. 90% of the ways you try to outsource PPC is a wrong way. I personally have given up, trying to outsource it. Have to handle it all, or hand the lead over to a company I have partnered up with for a few deals. I would recommend that YOU recommend your client to go with a reputable company for ppc management, or else you're getting yourself into some problems. I would recommend using JumpFly - Google AdWords & Microsoft adCenter PPC Mangagement Company as PPC is ALL THAT THEY DO! You don't need to worry about competing over your clients.
  • Send them to a landing page, not their website. Collect their email/phone and build an email marketing campaign. Have a video with some girl off Fiverr giving a testimonial. I have not done this, but saw it in a recent course and it makes sense. So many people send their Adwords traffic to a website and that is a waste, IMO.
  • I am an adwords specialist and outsourcing can work. I run a few different operations and do the adwords management fof all of them.

    The biggest thing I think for any kind of adwords is being able to put your trust in the person. Try and go for some one local if possible a I prefer meeting peope to understand their goals better.

    Always use a MCC, it really helps.

    Adwords isnt a head ache, I love doing it and would happily do it 60 hours a week if I had time. To me theres nothing like switching it on, getting that first sale and then turning it into a machine which is always improved and scaled.

    Look at the customers expectations and if you think you can fulfill them do it yourself, otherwise outsource it.

    • What is a MCC? I've been using adwords since 2006 and I've never heard of that :-)

  • I do recommend learning it using perry marshall's stuff as it allows you to test stuff for your client REALLY fast. Most businesses I hook up on adwords is with the free google credit and once they see the value of it, they are sold on it.

    Outsourcing it can be hard without putting that person in direct contact with your client which can create MANY more problems. Once you see a few winning ads and responses, you will also be hooked on offering this service to your clients.
