Need some advice on my first time cold calling?

I have found 30 leads through Google maps of Churches that need websites and about 5 websites that arent connected to Google places. What is a basic script I can say to offer them a free website? I imagine this shouldnt be to hard of a sell. Also on a funny side note 2 churches need reputation management with bad reviews on how the pastor is corrupt. lol

What's wrong with, "I'd like to do a website for you at no cost at all" and then answer their questions?

No, it's not hard to sell something you're doing for free.

      Exactly this.

Most of us are in the habit of looking to over complicate things when, sometimes things really are as simple as they appear to be.

Try it, good luck, and let us know how you got on.

Everyone has a little different style and you've "got to make it your own" as they always say to fit yours. If I got a cold call like that I would think "what's the catch" right off the bat. So my style would be a bit more of an intro. Something like

I focus on offering churches free websites as a way to build a long-term relationship with the local community and get people familiar with my services.

Something along those lines so people understand your goal is to make money in the lng run, but also looking to add value to them.

"Free" almost always makes people want to look for a catch. Maybe you could have a discount specifically for religious institutions. I've had just enough experience selling to churches to know that I don't want to sell to churches but that's me.

When I sold Yellow Page advertising churches were always looking for a discount and it seemed they felt entitled to it. I'm not a fan of dealing with anyone that feels "entitled" to special treatment.

I remember on one occassion a preacher wouldn't let me pitch him until I accepted Jesus in my heart. He asked me if I had found Jesus. I told him I didn't....after all, he didn't have a Yellow Page ad.

I'm just giving you a call as I noticed you organization is lacking a website and since I'm giving away no cost website development work for the local community I'd like to reach out to you and offer my voluntary services, how does a complimentary professional website sound?

I was just thinking about whether I should watch an episode of Seinfeld before I go to bed, but now I don't have to. Thank you
