SMS And Where To Get It Done.

I want to start to add more services for new clients and a lot is going on now with SMS text messaging.

Personally I think its like spam on your phone BUT I guess to make it work of course they (the customer) would want to opt in or subscribed to get messages on there phone from the merchant.

My question is how is this done on a bulk level? Is there a website you can go to to send out multi text messages? Is it done from my own phone or the merchants phone? What about text fees from there cell phone provider?

Anyone point me in the right direction at least to look over how its done AND pricing?

Thank you

  • Hey DN Champ,

Mine are done from a "platform" login, much like a back office to your e-mail marketing account.

They can be done from apps on some, but mainly it is maintained in alot of the same ways e-mails are.

With SMS, you want to manage the campaigns, because as the consultant you should know the best ways to market (i.e don't over blast their phone, create scarcity, etc etc).

All platforms usually have a couple of things in common: you pay for a keyword and per text and/or you pay a set up fee. On average a business will use up to 6 Key words.

I have moved 80% of my business to SMS for 2012, the possibilities are endless with SMS, it's much more than just sending offers to phones, although that is at it's most basic level.

The local companies to me (to which we are about to destroy!) charge about 10 cents per text to their clients.

Just make sure it is done correctly, or you will waste your clients time, SMS is effective if just done correctly! (like any marketing campaign).

Avid mobile, trumpia, seem to be some favorite names around here :-)
