Has Amazon Price Check created more offline opportunity?
Anytime I see or hear of a group of consumer, retailers or elected officials complain or threaten new laws or legislation I look for the hidden opportunity.
It sems that Amazon has volleyed another cannon ball at offline retailers that has retailers and some politicians up in arms.

This can be good news for all offliners!!
This can be leveraged for the perfect in to get in front of your offline prospects and help them build their marketing fortress to buffet the attack on them from the giant AMAZON!
Yeah, i know that might be a tad over dramatic but not when you look at it from the stand point of a small retailer in this economy, they are ready to blame their woes on anything they don't quite understand and what better target to show them than AMAZON who has the audacity to come right into their little store and pay to have their inventory price checked.
I can think of at least a dozen ways to leverage this news and get more offline customers. Here are four:
Idea #1. Have your offline retailers place a huge "Amazon Price Check Welcome Here" Sign in their front window or entrance. Have them directed to a salesperson or customer service desk to register with the store for special match discounts (The maximum Amazon Price Check bounty is 5% or $5 each on limit 3 items "qualified" items per store).
Idea #2. PR - Invent a story on how your little offline Main Street store is fighting the giant behemoth Amazon and pass it around to your local news outlets.
Idea #3. Just use the news (Amazon Price Check is Attack on Retailers) as an in with your cold callining to remind prospects that to compete they need your help..
Idea #4. Invent a service to check how many "qualified' Amazon Price Check items a store carries. This can help you get in the door to pitch your offline services.
Just a few ideas that to add to your offline arsenal.. I could go on. This could be a short lived opportunity but be assured more of these types of opportunities are in the wings from Amazon and many other online giants, be on the look out!
