Question About SEO & Websites for Offline Businesses

I have a couple questions about SEO and websites for local businesses. Say you work with 3 local pizzerias and you built their site for them and are doing SEO. How would you do SEO for 3 of the same type of businesses when your overall goal is to get them all to #1 on google? Or am i missing something?

How much do you charge to maintain your customers websites. Say its just a very basic website with hosting and maybe 1 or 2 updates a month that shouldnt take more then a half hour a month to do.

Thanks for the help

Well... I wouldn't. I wouldn't take the same client in the same niche for SEO. For web design, yes. For SEO, not if I can help it. That is why you charge a premium fee for exclusivity with SEO in local niches.

As for charging for updates... What is your time worth? 1 or 2 updates a month should be at least an easy $100... businesses can afford this, if they can't then they probably shouldn't be in business lol.

As a starter I wouldn't take a Pizzeria as a SEO client. Makes no sense to me. But to answer your question with a different market (surfcamps) we rarely had that conflit of interests. Maybe once in all these years? If that?

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

If there are 800 searches for that pizzeria on the internet because it does home-deliveries for example, why wouldn't you SEO it?

Of that 800 searches, there are definitely going to be at least 500 orders, because people searching for pizzerias online don't want to look at their pictures, they want to order their pizza.

      500 orders * $10 = $5000 (let's say that's an average order)

You think a local pizzeria wouldn't be interested? Mhm

Good to know I can count on you to make my math. :p Maybe it's a problem of mine, but in every country I've been we just dig local PizzHut phone number and we're good to go. Over here there are 6 pizzerias, but in all honestly I just order from 2 of them: PizzaHut and Telepizza.

So yeah I have a hard time understanding SEO for pizzerias. But who cares about what I say? I can dish out an amazing plan right now and no one is listening to me

Thanks for the info. Do you guys do Twitter or Facebook for your clients? If so, how much do you charge per month for that?
